July 19: Sad day in Toronto

Reports from the Stones rehearsals in Toronto
are telling about the tragic death of the guitar technician
Royden "Chuch" Magee,
suffering a fatal heart attack during
rehearsals last night. Chuch has been working
with Ronnie Wood and The Rolling Stones for 30 years,
as a sound engineer on works like the album "I've Got My Own Album To Do" (1974),
then on Rolling Stones tours, and the recent shows of Ronnie in Dublin and
London last year. Also, Chuch was with Charlie on his tour with
the Tentet to Japan and USA last year.

Mick and Keith will star in the season premiere of "The Simpsons," which will

celebrated in Oslo, Norway on June 12 and 13 at
Smuget. The cover bands "Sticky Fingers",

and "Midnight Ramblers" will perform live,
and Stones live videos will be shown during the breaks.

There will be a photo exhibition called "The Decca Years" at the Atlas

The photo exhibition
The Rolling Stones: 40 X 20 opens Sept. 20 and continues through Oct.
26, 2002 at the Govinda Gallery in Washinton DC.
It includes Gus Coral's photographs of the Stones' first tour of England,
Gered Mankowitz's Between the Buttons photographs, Michael Cooper's Satanic
Majesties era images, Michael Joseph's Beggar's Banquet session,
and Dominique Tarle's photographs of their work in the south of
France recording Exile on Main Street.

|
Mick Jagger is to be knighted by Queen Elizabeth II
of Great Britain for his services
to music, according to UK Sunday newspapers. Mick Jagger is supposed to be
given the title Sir Mick in the queen's birthday honors next
weekend, according to The Sunday Times.
The official comment is: "We never discuss honors until they are
actually awarded".

The Blimp has been touring across the United States
since the press conference on May 7.
On Saturday June 1st it was observed close to
Dayton, Ohio, and it will probably
continue it's way across the States, promoting the

May 23: Stones concert travel packages available soon
|
Knowing the U.S. ticket situation has been hard for European
Stones fans, the IORR fan club has been working with
the official Stones travel contacts to build travel
packages including tickets to shows. There will be packages
for Boston (including FleetCenter), New York (including MSG),
Las Vegas (MGM) and more. There will also be offers for
U.S. fans. Theater/club tickets will not be available, however.
Details will show up here within few days, Tuesday at the latest.

May 9: Andrew Loog Oldham to address NXNE conference in Canada

Former Rolling Stones manager Andrew Loog Oldham will deliver the
keynote address at the annual NXNE (North By Northeast) Music Festival

memoirs, "2Stoned," is due out in October.

May 7: The Rolling Stones tour start in Boston
|
The Rolling Stones arrived into their press conference
at New York's Van Cortland Park in a RS-yellow blimp,
i.e. a Zeppeliner-type air ballon, with a large red Stones tongue,
shortly before 2pm this afternoon.
Great tour plans for 2002 and 2003 were presented,
and Mick, Keith, Ronnie and Charlie all were just great.

|
Mick Taylor might show up as a guest artist with the Stones
during their upcoming tour, according to sources being
in contact with Mick Taylor. It is unclear how many
shows he might attend.

April 16: Keith Richards in Willie Nelson tribute show
|
Keith Richards, Ryan Adams, Jon Bon Jovi, Sheryl Crow and Emmilou Harris
were amongst the stars who took part in a tribute to Willie Nelson in
Naashville on Sunday April 14.
Billed as 'Willie Nelson & Friends: Stars & Guitars', the show
at the Ryman Auditorium was recorded for a television special due to be
aired May 27 on the USA Network.
The show's highlight saw Richards, Adams, Hank Williams III and Nelson
himself take to the stage in front of four mics and play the Rolling Stones
classic 'Dead Flowers'. The quartet called themselves the Lost Highwaymen,
a nod to Nelson's membership in the legendary Highwaymen - his occasional
band which featured Johnny Cash, Kris Kristofferson and Waylon Jennings.
Also, Keith did "The Worst" with Sheryl Crow, plus a country song.

April 14: Michael Cohl in Canadian Music Hall Of Fame
|
Michael Cohl, the Toronto-based tour promoter who has kept the
Stones on the road for the past tours, was inducted into
the Canadian Hall of Fame last night. See

If it was a done deal we'd announce it. I'm hopeful".
According to strong rumours,

April 14: Switzerland celebrating the Stones today
|
Thirtyfive years ago today, on April 14, 1967,
the Rolling Stones played their notorious gig at
the Hallenstadium in Zurich, Switzerland,
where fans turned the venue into a batting-field.

The rumour about Philadelpia being the city of the tour start might
be wrong, as the city of Boston is now said, unofficially

The Rolling Stones are expected to start their 2002
world tour in USA in September. While we expected an
arena tour like No Security 1999 in USA, the 2002
world tour will most probably be the biggest and

The greatest rock'n'roll band in the world will take their tour
to many cities in USA, before going to Europe, South America
and Asia, taking them to more than 100 shows worldwide.

Dec. 23: Keith on new Ivan Neville album
|
Keith Richards and Bonnie Raitt are among the guest artists on the new solo album
by former X-Pensive Wino, Ivan Neville. The R&B album, "Saturday Morning Music" is
due out in mid-January via Uptop Entertainment, a new music production company
formed by actor Bruce Willis. According to a press release, the rock'n'roll
lifestyle took its toll on Neville, who succumbed to addiction and ill health. But
he has recovered and he plays around Los Angeles.

Dec. 23: Mick's album falls to No. 96 on U.S. pop charts
|
"Goddess in the Doorway" fell 19 places to No. 96 on the U,S, album charts for the
week ended Dec. 16, and appears not to be getting a boost from the Christmas buying
season. Sales stand at just 172,231 units after four weeks of release.

Dec. 23: Mick Jagger will not perform at the American Music Awards
|
It is now confirmed - Mick Jagger will not perform at the American Music Awards
in Los Angeles on Jan. 9. Mick is currently on vacation with his family. After the
holiday Mick will shoot the video for Visions of Paradise,
his next single, due out in January.
The organizers of the awards say that Mick's management asked for him to be included
in the lineup some time ago, but obviously things changed.

ITV1 in UK will broadcast Classic Albums on Dec 29th,
featuring Elvis' first album, with comments from Keith Richards.
Then on Dec. 31st BBC2 will broadcast Jools Hollands
Hootenanny where Ronnie and Slash will perform Little Queenie.

Dec. 17: Rufus Thomas dies aged 84
|
Versatile soul icon Rufus Thomas, a pioneering radio DJ
and a singer/songwriter famed for the R&B standard
Walking The Dog,
has died in Memphis at age 84, his family said Sunday.
"Walking The Dog", from 1963, marked his first top 10 pop
hit and has since been covered by more than 100 artists,
including the Rolling Stones.

Dec. 17: Mick Jagger on new Matchbox Twenty album
|
Mick Jagger will appear on Matchbox Twenty's third record,
which the band will record next year. Returning a favor to
Matchbox frontman Rob Thomas -- who co-wrote and contributed
vocals to "Visions of Paradise" --
Mick sings on the band's "I Got a Disease".

Dec. 14: Ronnie Wood on BBC1 tonight
|
"Friday Night with Jonathan Ross" will be broadcast on BBC1 tonight -
Friday 14 December at 10.35 pm. Ronnie is interviewed by Jonathan and
the 'stripped down' band - Ronnie, Jesse, Martin, Mark and Leah -
perform 'This Little Heart'. NOT to be missed as Ronnie is on top
form!

Dec. 13: Ronnie Wood with guests in London
|
Ronnie Wood did two shows in London this week.
First Ronnie played to a full house of may be 2000 people
at the Shepherd's Bush Empire on Tuesday 11th.
Andrea of The Corrs guested on a few songs, singing and playing flute.
Slash joined in like in Dublin for most of the show.
The night after Ronnie and the same guests played
the intimate CC Club in Leicester Square in front of some 450 fans and
invitees who paid 260 pounds to be in such a small place.
After the CC Club show Ronnie was on to TV studio recordings.

Nov. 29: Uncut magazine with special Rolling Stones issues
|
The UK based
Uncut
magazine is paying tribute to the Rolling Stones with its special collectors'
January issue, coming with two different commemorative covers.
The first cover is from the 1960s by Gered Mankowitz,
the second cover is an unpublished photo for the Sticky Fingers photo session
by Peter Webb.
Both covers also feature a separate CD, which together include
over 30 covers of classic Stones hits, including tracks exclusively
recorded for Uncut by Ryan Adams and Beth Orton, Lambchop,
The Handsome Family and Stereophonics' Kelly Jones.

Nov. 29: Mick on "Saturday Night Live"
|
Mick is tentatively scheduled to perform on
"Saturday Night Live" in the United States
on Dec. 8. Virgin says he has not officially
committed, but they expect he will agree to
do it. With regard to future live solo shows,
Virgin Records America co-president Ray
Cooper says: "I think that's a discussion point
for the future. We're not ruling it out,
but we're not confirming it yet either."

Nov. 29: Mick debuts at No. 39 in the United States
|
"Goddess in the Doorway" debuted at No. 39 on the U.S.
pop album charts, selling 67,839
units in the week ended Nov. 25.
By contrast, "Wandering Spirit" sold 59,710 units in
its first week in 1993, debuting at No. 11.
Other international chart bows for the new
record include: No. 2 in Germany, No. 3 in Austria,
No. 6 in the Music & Media
Eurochart, No. 8 in Switzerland, No. 9 in Japan,
No. 12 in France, No. 14 in Denmark,
No. 15 in the Netherlands, No. 19 in Italy, No. 44 in Britain.

|
Dutch radio 192 will do more Mick Taylor broadcasts on Monday December 3.
There will be interviews where Mick talks about the Stones,
and also more live recordings.

Nov. 26: Mick Taylor on Dutch radio tonight
|
Last Saturday afternoon Mick Taylor recorded
"Time waits for no one" with Dutch singer/songwriter Erwin Nijhoff
in Hilversum, the Netherlands. Now it seems like Dutch Radio 192 will
broadcast this recording tonight.
Other recordings done at the same session are said to be
"Dead Flowers", "No Expectations" and unfinished versions of
"I got the blues" and "Sister Morphine".

The
Being Mick documentary of Mick Jagger and his new solo album
Goddess in the Doorway will include live recordings from the
El Rey Theater as well as studio works.
