August 31: New live album "No Security" out on Nov. 2
The new Stones live album titled No Security is scheduled to be released in Europe on Nov. 2 (and Nov. 3 in the American market). Tracks have been recorded live during this tour, and mixed partly in Paris this summer. The fans will be able to vote on parts of the tracks on the live album via an internet web page, just like the cybervote on the tour pages. Details of the track list and voting will be available in few dates. Among the tracks that may make it for the album are Memory Motel (with Dave Matthews, Amsterdam), Sister Morphine, She's A Rainbow, Flip The Switch, Saint Of Me, Out Of Control and others.
August 31: Chorzow broadcast in Poland last night
The Rolling Stones concert in Chorzow, Poland on Aug. 14 was broadcasted though Polsat in Poland last night. The broadcast contained 18 songs, missing the songs Anybody Seen My Baby, Wanna Hold You and Little Queenie.
August 30: Arena tour Jan/Feb. 99 in USA
The rumoured arena tour in USA will most probably happen. There are rumours of a tour start in San Jose, California Jan. 12, but this may change. Expect 28-35 shows in famous and major arenas across the States during Jan/Feb. 1999.
August 27: Bremen broadcast on Sept. 2
The Bremen show on Sept. 2 should be available in a direct broadcast via pay TV channels all over Europe. Check with your local Pay TV suppliers. Canal + in France is broadcasting from 21:00 to 23:15, live and complete. Expect the show to start 9pm sharp. Other stations to broadcast are Radio Zet in Poland, RTL in Italy, HBO in Czeck Republic etc. Prepare for a great show, and have your VCR's ready!
August 27: Waldb�hne, Berlin Sept. 10th confirmed
Just as the Rolling Stones show at the Olympic Stadium, Berlin finished last night, the stadium monitors announced "Welcome to Waldb�hne Sept. 10". So this amphitheater show for approx. 20.000 fans in Berlin is now official. Ticket sales will start later this week, probably on Friday.
August 26: Istanbul show Sept. 19 confirmed
The final show of the tour, as per now, has finally been confirmed, at the Ali Sami Yen stadium, Istanbul, Turkey, Sept. 19. Tickets go on sale today Aug. 26.
August 23: Prague arena show successful!
The first small sized arena show in Europe this year turned out to be a great success, as the Rolling Stones played to about 14,000 fans in the Sports Hall, Prague. Now we may expect one more arena show in Stockholm, in the Globe Arena ("Globen"), plus there are also rumours of a 2nd Berlin show at the Waldb�hne, an amphi theatre out door sized approx. 20,000 capacity. And if all goes well, the tour will close in Istanbul - see the 1998 tour page for details.
August 19: Bremen show in Italian broadcast
The Rolling Stones show in Bremen, Germany, Sept. 2 will be broadcasted live on the Italian radio station RTL 102.5. Also on Canal +, pay TV in Europe.
August 17: Polish fans in Stonesland
Read the great reports from one of the best Bridges to Babylon shows, at Chorz�w, Poland on Aug. 14th. After the show the Stones went to UK to rest, before the next show in Zagreb, Croatia on Aug. 20th.
August 17: Voodoo Lounge bar in London is open!
The Voodoo Lounge bar in London, closely related to The Rolling Stones, is already open! It opened last week, ahead of the official opening in September. The location is Leicester Square, London. There is a huge tongue and lips logo outside. It's a bar of two floors, general bar on the 1st floor, then a VIP section on the 2nd floor. Drinks have names from Stones songs, there are paintings by Ronnie Wood and Andy Warhol on the wall, and the price level is HIGH! Dress nicely, and bring some extra cash when visiting this place!
August 17: Polish show broadcast on Aug. 30
The Rolling Stones show in Chorzow, Poland Aug. 14 will be broadcasted by Polish TV POLSAT on Aug. 30. It is supposed to be a complete show, 2 1/2 hours, and POLSAT is available via satellite in Europe.
August 9: Iceland show for June 1999
The Stones show originally planned for Iceland this summer, have been moved into the summer of 1999, by late June, early July, due to all the changes during this tour, and a tight Aug/Sept schedule. Now 1999 seems to become a mini tour of UK, Italy and Iceland, plus may be more...
August 8: Voodoo Lounge restaurant in London
A new "theme" restaurant will open in Leicester Square, London, UK shortly: "Voodoo Lounge", owned by the Stones, and in competition with Sticky Fingers, Planet Hollywood etc.
August 5: Globen, Stockholm show confirmed
As the Stones flew over Stockholm on their way from Oslo to Helsinki on Tuesday evening, the rumours of a small show in Stockholm got stronger. And now it is confirmed - ticket sales start August 10, prices from SEK 250 - 700 (US $30-90). The place is Globen, a great arena with a 10,000 capacity. Watch out for more smaller shows in September! Also, Turkey Sept 19 seems probable, see the 1998 tour dates.
August 4: The 1999 Tour rumours
There have been lots of rumours about the 1999 Tour of the Rolling Stones. There have been talks of an arena (smaller size venues) tour in USA, of 24 shows starting Jan. 12, 1999 at MSG/NY. Probably doing major arenas in major cities. Also may be Buenos Aires, Argentina once more. For the summer they may add Italy to the UK leg, as they can't seem to fit in Italy this year. But just like the 3rd leg of the 1994/95 tour in Asia (planned for 1996), this may be another planned, never performed leg, of course.
August 4: Bill Wyman new album and tour
Bill Wyman and his Rhythm Kings will release a new album titled "Anyway the Wind Blows" on BMG Records 27th September 1998, following up his recent release Struttin Our Stuff. Then he will tour Belgium, Gerrmany, Holland, France, Denmark, Sweden and Norway from Oct. 9 to 24. See more details and tour dates on the Sticky Fingers web pages, news section..
