I agree with this completely: "The solution is probably a trio of Keith, Ronnie and Mick T., where Ronnie and Keith do the rythm part and Mict T. the solo." Because I disagree with you about Ronnie. He can't play a solo like he used to... and Keith could use some help with the rythm these days... its a perfect solution.

I agree. There is not much question if Mick Jagger can still go on tour... he could. The real question is can the guitars still do it. I think Keith realizes that by the end of the last tour, he was not the force he once was. Mick knows it. I get the sense that Keith has really started taking better care of himself. I don't think he is drinking and smoking, although he would rather not

I think its about being stuck in a relationship, but wanting this other woman that you can't be with because of it... but can't let this other woman go either. You just can't be with this woman but you long for her. Something like that was always my take. I do think this song is one of their best.

Quotenocomment Quote71Tele Quotemickjagger1009 I am not counting on a Stones tour with Mick Taylor, or even a Stones tour at all, but Taylor joining the Stones on tour is no longer just a pipe dream either. Yep. For the first time ever, it makes some sense, given how this tour is shaping up, as an acknowledged farewell. Hopefully it means Bill Wyman too, at least for the Euro dates so he

A few years ago, if I told you maybe someday Mick Taylor would basically cut a Stones track with Jagger (Plundered My Soul)... everyone would have laughed and told me to keep dreaming. No one would have believed it... but it happened. And lets face it, the guitar section today could use a boost. I am not counting on a Stones tour with Mick Taylor, or even a Stones tour at all, but Taylor joini

I saw them early in the tour and thought they still had it, but by the end of the tour it is obvious they did not... and its all about the guitar section because Mick, Charlie, and the extras performances did not decline. Was the turning point Keith's fall and his play after that point? Wasn't Woody clean at the start of the tour and not by the end?

I could not disagree more... those are great Stones years with Ronnie. Bill is a killer on that 78-82 unit.

It's Only Rock 'n Roll Its such a Mick Taylor album really, but the engine room of Keith/Bill/Charlie definitely has its moments. There is a nice variety of songs... some good ballads. The best ballad of them was left off... Through the Lonely Nights.

I agree... the Stones most under-rated decade... easily. I enjoy watching my DVD's of those tours as much as any Stones material.

For me, VL is 110% the better tour over Bridges. I think VL was the last great Stones unit. Charlie was a horse. Ronnie was still be big contributer. Bridges was the first time I thought the Stones lost a step. The energy took a tiny step back. The moves seems a tad bit forced. VL they seemed younger, on top of their game, and more naturally themselves.

Here is the Stones "weaving" in "modern" times, on a new song too (new at the time).

I know so many people go crazy over the Mick Taylor era, but there is no way this list can't have Some Girls on it. Here is the list: Sticky Fingers Exile on Main Street Some Girls * I really think you got to have Tattoo You also. Again the Mick Taylor era was obviously so special, but I love that late 70's/early 80's weave with Ronnie on top of his game. And I think Bil

I'd definitely pay the extra money to see Bill. Bill adds something. Jones just fills a void.

The importance of Taylor's guitar is that there is another melodic instrument in the air like pushing the song melodically further - Jagger is not alone. It is fascinating how much Taylor communicates with both Keith and Mic

This is a very interesting theory. I just don't completely agree that Keith COMPLETELY gave up control of the band's sound. I do think he got much more support around him though. And I don't COMPLETELY agree that Ronnie Wood has musically been a bum since 1982. I think opinions are a bit biased by what the Stones have sounded like during the last decade. Over the last decade I

110. Re: BEERS
That link above is for a GREAT beer: Saranac Big Moose Ale Their description: Saranac Big Moose Ale is an American Pale Ale with a kick. The medium-bodied malt sweetness is balanced by a nice crisp bitterness from hand selected centennial and cascade hops. Look for a vibrant citrusy hop aroma that will leave you craving another swig!

I still think its great. It does have the magic, that feel, that still excites me every time I hear. Obviously its great to hear Mick Taylor on it, but the Stones were great with Ronnie too (just listen to Handsome Girls). What sticks out to me is Bill. Bill is great on this track and reminds me of how much better the Stones were with Bill and how much he brought to the band's sound. Th

Work and kids is running my life right now. I don't know when I'll get around to Bill German's book. What is the jist of life on the road in 1989 and the 1990's? Groupies? Wild times?

One thing I am curious about, that both Keith's book and Ron's book gloss right over, is life on the road during 1989 and the 1990's. What was life like on the road during the Steel Wheels, Voodoo Lounge, and Bridges tours? We know Keith and Ron were still partying hard, but how hard and wild was it? How much partying/hanging out went on between Mick and the guitars off the stag

What it does show is the band on top of its game, especially Keith. I know its kind of slick and not raw enough... ya, I get that. BUT... what jumps at me when I watch this is the control Keith has of his fingers. He totally dominates his guitar. His fingers are flying, something that obviously is not the case now. Mick's moves don't look like as "forced". Lots of en
