what? winwood plays most of the guitar on the post dave mason traffic albums
winwood is credited as the only guitar player on the albums:
john barleycorn
low spark of high heeled boys
shoot out at the fantasy factory
when the eagle flies
far from home
arc of a diver
talking back to the night
back in the high life
plus gets guitar credit on all the other albums he released but had other guitar players as well
yay. the manics get a rare nod here at iorr.
How about not underrated, just overlooked, because of their other talents get so much more attention.
I'll 2nd the Junior Brown nomination & add Marc Ford & Jeff 'Skunk' Baxter

also tracii guns is underrated though he didn't start in the scorpions

Drugs and drink has been the ruin of many a poor boy, there is something about Rock and Roll that makes people lose control. I have known many musicians who acted like Rock Stars, even though they were only in a garage band and had never even seen a recording studio, let alone been in one. The Rock and Roll life ends badly for most, only a few keep it together.
