Maybe Taylor is warming up because Jagger wants to kick Keith out of the Stones. Yikes! (I doubt that Charlie would allow that.)

Achilles 77, nice to have you here, heard about the tour, well its still in the planning from Taylors Manager, I have been trying to drum up some interest here in Australia by contacting a few promoters and festival organizers to let them know he may be around next year and trying to get someone to book him. No one asked me but I have been doing it just so I can see him in concert, he rarely comes here, either the promoters dont beleive me or they are not interested. If I could do it myself, I would but thats way out of my comfort zone.

Is Ronnie's response to the "when will the Stones tour?" question - "How long is a piece of string?" a reference to...THE TODGER INCIDENT?
I think so. Ugh. Stupid Keith.

I am not counting on a Stones tour with Mick Taylor, or even a Stones tour at all, but Taylor joining the Stones on tour is no longer just a pipe dream either.
Yep.

I dont think any Stone or Ex Stone would like a big tour anyway, they're all getting a bit long in the tooth for that.

I said "Hi Mick Taylor, my two favourite tracks are 100 Years Ago & Winter", to which he said something like "I hope I get to play theses again sometime soon", which I took as a hint, that somehow he might play with the Stones again

You are all nuts if you think Keith would be replaced by anyone for the 50th Tour dates, Put those mushrooms down!

What do you think "how long is a piece of string?" means? It's a strange thing to say. To me, it is clearly an oblique reference to penis size.

Sipuncula
I assume it means that it is an unanswerable question. A piece of string has no defined length. Probably a saying, as they say.

Yep.
For the first time ever, it makes some sense, given how this tour is shaping up,
as an acknowledged farewell. Hopefully it means Bill Wyman too, at least for
the Euro dates so he doesnt have to fly.

A piece of string has a measurable length, people. Unless, of course, you're getting into physics and talking about string theory.

Was this in Poole or London?
Did Mayall or Taylor suggest he was playing other dates with Mayall?

Nothing wrong with keeping hope alive.
Did he look in better shape physically than he has in the past few years?
I think this is the latest on how he looks these days. Not too bad IMHO...
