To have it said in encyclopedias of rock in the future that they were a creative band in the course of 50 years or more, I think the Stones have got to release a studio album of new songs, even if it be represented with one song only during concerts. And fans who would not have such an album, might abstain from buying it themselves, instead of denying others the privilege to obtain one album m

As only an occasional reader of (and writer on ) IORR's Tell Me I would first like to refer to the sometimes stated three alternative major views of Rolling Stones musical output as I understand them. They imply musical horizons, that often supply us with yardsticks, with which we tend to measure this lifelong band's musical achievements. Else, it might be to much for one person to take

They do read the message boards.... and they read how so many people (not me) bash every new albumand song made in the last 30 years... and they are rich... and they might say... fk it.... why go through the trouble of making a new album when all these supoosed fans will just say things like ""after Tattoo You, I don't think

A highly interesting thread for me as only an occasional reader of IORR. So many contrasting thoughts, provoking a varying mixture of agreement and disagreement on my part. To comment on all of it would take too much time. Only one isolated point: QuoteBroomWagon ..................................................... Tattoo You as a whole is very grand, not a weak song on there, okay, I

My wish for the point in time when (or if) the band will decide to stop its existence, but would like to do a tour or a couple of shows, please do not call it a farewell. It would be too emotional to fully enjoy the occasion in my view. And I would much prefer that a stop of existence is something that only happens, without being decided on. Each and every tour I have been to one, two or four

And if there might be also a contemporary sign of musical creativity - that is, another studio album expressing the outlook and feel of the Rolling Stones on the world and life of 2012 - at least a great minority among fans would take a special delight in it. Even if a majority of writing fans on IORR is certain to voice heavy criticism directed against everything that is completely new. Reme

Almost any time tracks are nominated in these threads to be cut off, with the apparent ambition to «improve» an album, numbers I fancy, tend to be among them. Consequently, I disagree. Apart from that, I take the opposite view, I am so pleased and thankful for any track in addition I can obtain that this wonderful band finds good enough and suited.

The kind of a NEW Stones album we need? The simple answer is ANY kind of album they themselves would desire to make! And the only hope of obtaining it!

Another day, maybe another point of view. There are of course other gems. However, one of them is and will always be the fourth verse of "No Expectations". (I will not try to state my reasons and ruin the impression) Our love was like the water That splashes on a stone Our love is like our music Its here, and then its gone

It was you then, Pussy Whips, that eloquently expressed the view at the early stage? I remember how I read it with much interest at a time when I had heard absolutely nothing of ABB. I had forgotten who wrote it.

I have wondered whether the misunderstanding, by the way cleared up in an early post on this very board (at a time when I myself had not yet obtained a vinyl version of the album), about whose point of view is taken during the verses of "Sweet NeoCon", in contrast to the short "answers", might have contributed to an amount of bad publicity. That is, some challenging lines are

Due to personal reasons of no common interest, I obtained my vinyl ABB rather late, and I have only slowly arrived at about 20 listenings. For me, that means it is early days yet. What the market says, is of course of importance. What will be the view of "posterity", it is impossible to state without doubt. - My personal view so far seems to be that aBB promises to be good enough an

I consider it very wise to give the people at large what they want. At the same time I think that is just as wise not to give the people all that they want. Give them part of it. That is, don't give them so much of it. Warhorses should be a mere privilege to experience, not the stable diet. Make people come back for more of something else of it - on another concert in some other city, possi

I don't really hate "Melody" even if it is probably the Stones track that I regularly least prefer.(I don't take Metamorphosis tracks into consideration, but I do not hate any of those.) However, I remember the distant time period when I had started to like some Rolling Stones music very much, as much as the band was comparatively new to me, but had not yet grown into unco
