Good news! Is it a recording of one show? Or are the tracks from various shows?

The Stones mark I is a long time ago and therefore not discussed as much as mark II & III. But I love some of the old stuff. A favourite of mine is Out of Our Heads (on vinyl), UK Track listing: "She Said Yeah" "Mercy, Mercy" "Hitch Hike" "That's How Strong My Love Is" "Good Times" "Gotta Get Away" "Talkin

Little Queenie on Ya Ya's, the part where he goes up the scale during the 2nd guitarsolo. Lovely!

Chuck playing one-note punctuations means he leaves more room for the guitars, which is great. You can't blame Chuck for the lack of guitars in the mix in the beginning of the show.

Agree with StonesTod. In '99 both Ron & Keith played slide, didn't they? It's pretty difficult to sing this song and play slide at the same time. So it's a smart choice to leave the guitar parts to Ronnie & Blondie if this results in a better performance. And judged by the reactions the performance was great!

At Vredenburg, a clubshow in august 2003. They just finished a song (think it was IORR) en Ronnie started playing the outro chords again, on his own. Mick said someting like: 'Thank you Ronnie, that's enough' to make him stop playing.

Fantastic album. I like their live albums better than their studio LP's. Great shows in 1982 opening for the Stones. Wish they would put out a DVD of a live show. Or get back together again! They did a US reunion tour about 7 years ago, right?

Brewscrew1987, I fully agree. Judged on the recordings of Twickenham and Glasgow, Ronnie is much better than he was the first part of the ABB tour. His playing shows confidence, he knows what he's doing and the fear in his playing is gone.

JKF: I was just about to post the same. I've been listening to Twicks and now I'm listening to Glasgow and they've been playing GREAT!!! I'm so pleased and proud of what I'm hearing. Ronnie is so much better now. There's no fear in his playing anymore, he KNOWS what he's doing. What a great band, what a gift to this world. Amen.

Also very good: the Stripped live '95 B-sides: Gimme Shelter, All down the line, Live with me, Tumblin'Dice and BlackLimousine. Would be a great EP.

If you look at the wonderful pictures of Sheffield Ronnie seems to play the SG a lot, because Keith at the same time uses his Holowbody, his blond Tele without a capo, and with a capo on the 4th fret (Tumblin' Dice?).

It's been coming for a long time. The former attitude of rebellion is long gone. I guess it's very hard to maintain that attitude when you become as big, rich and old as the Stones and your leadsinger even gets a knighthood. Maybe it's part of growin'up. And times have changed offcourse. In the 60's and 70's there were not many politicians and corperate leaders that

To be honest, I think one of the reasons they start with JJF is that it's easy to play. No real @#$%& ups, unlike Brown Sugar (it's not very encouraging to start a show in the wrong key, or whatever Keith was doing with BS too many times in 2003!).

The total outcome is the result of many parts: not just guitars ans amps, but also the microphones, pre-amps for the mics, the recorder, the mixing desk, the halls they recorded in, the performance etc. And everything in those days was analogue offcourse. I think what's really important is the balance between ambience (the mikes recording the sound in the hall) and close miking (the mikes j

Feak and Roll Into the Fog is a great DVD indeed. The music's fantastic. The BC could do with a little more show though. After Freak & Roll I played the Paris club show of 4 Flicks and I couldn't help thinking: these Stones guys are twice as old but they entertain twice as hard.
