With Marc Ford back in the band the Crowes sure sound great. His guitar more then
Rich Robinson's sure defines the band's sound.

On Feak and Roll Into the Fog DVD - There is a moment at the end of Soul Singing
where Marc and Rich trade dueling guitar lines that sounds so Allmansque.

On the Bonus footage Cris and Rich fool around with Loving Cup.

the black crowes are a great rock and roll band...they made a fantastic musical leap from money maker to southern companion and haven't really looked back...the robinson brothers are like the davies brothers or mick and keith...there is that under lying tension on and off stage that at any minute there will be a fight or things will be tossed about....marc ford and chris robinson mesh so well on stage...

I'm seeing them tonight in Toronto at 100 year old Massey Hall (2800 capacity). Beautiful old building with great sound, saw Keith and the Winos there in 92. Can't wait.

Feak and Roll Into the Fog is a great DVD indeed. The music's fantastic. The BC could do with a little more show though. After Freak & Roll I played the Paris club show of 4 Flicks and I couldn't help thinking: these Stones guys are twice as old but they entertain twice as hard.

i meant rich robinson and marc ford...jack, have a good time, the crowes are great in that type of hall...i saw them last yr at a shed and they seem to lose
some of their three charms when distanced from the audience...

crowes are great. was just listening the "instant live" recording I got of their Fillmore show I attended last August - great stuff. I can't imagine any Stones fan not loving this band....

Tell me that when you listen to the riff in Jealous Again that you are not hearing a mix of a bunch of different Keith riffs. I got the new Crows dvd and its great. Good to hear a band playing good old rock n roll with such a Stonesy sound.

Where can I get the Crows version of CYHMK and Sway, are these in soundboard quality?

Funny you should point out that song. At the Fillmore gig last year, my buddy and I simultaneously (and un-rehearsed!) broke into the Jiving Sister Fanny "chant" that goes "ah Ha-Ha-Ha" after the main riff - 'cos it's identical. We looked at each other and laughed our arses off....

I hear so many Stones riffs like that in their music that I always find myself thinking "what Stones song does that sound like."

Any of you guys have that bootleg box set of the Black Crows doing all those covers, that looks pretty good.

Do imagine T&A... Naw, just kidding, I love this band too! Only saw them once out here in an outdoor ampitheatre- sound was pretty bad, but the Crowes definitely rocked out.

Can't wait to hear their new studio effort- any word on when that might be?

I've got it - 5 discs - 81 songs. Crowes are the best cover band out there - certainly more prolific than our heroes....

the crowes have never denied that the stones were one of their inspirations...
i think that they just like to rock out and whatever they are playing if it works in the jam then they go for it...the interesting thing about the crowes is that they can sustain long jams with solid musicianship, no wandering around, well perhaps alittle, but when they bring it all back together it generally is better than when it started...not to many bands can do this....

I'll be seeing them friday night a Soaring Eagle Casino in upper michigan. I am pumped. It appears that they open with a different song everynight and the whole setlist shifts alot. Interesting. I just got into them about 3 weeks ago. Thats all I have listened to. I wonder if they have antics, just play the music, or both.

Marc Ford and the Black Crowes kick ass as a live act. Rock & Roll!!!!

antics for me are: like jagger does...kinda a lead singer who never stops moving around the stage always getting in the crowds face, this kind of swagger like we are the best shit in the world, or really cool lights that work well with all the songs, some sort of design for a stage, etc.

basically what the stones do but in a different original way.
