Mixed emotions. Thought they should've stopped after John's death (probably after Moon's). I must admit however that I was impressed by their playing at Live8. Much better than I expected. They really blew many young acts away. RnT

Is the intro done by one of the guitarplayers? Or still piano? And do they still use that horrible clicktrack and fake percussion? Or is it more like 75/76?. RnT

Thanx for your report Tony. You're right. The way they play and sound (with lots of energy, guitars up in the mix, often stripped down to just 5 or 6 musicians) is far more important than the setlist. RnT

The idea for Rough Justice was Keith's. In one of the iorr-linked interviews he said he dreamed it like he once dreamed Satisfaction.

Oh yes. Drop it or at least get rid of the disco beat (used in the tours since 1989!). Terrible.

On RnR Circus Keith played JJF in standard tuning. When did he change to open G? Was it in 1969 already (in the park & on Ya Ya's)?

Well, to be honest: I'd rather listen to Oasis rock 'n roll ripp offs on the radio than boring 'originals' like Keane and Coldplay.

I always liked the way he played slide (in a rough 'n tumble kind of way). He didn't do it that much on stage though. I think he played it on Happy 1976 & Little Red Rooster El Mocombo 1977. Anything else?

The first time I went I was 14, but I went by myself without company of parents. I would say it's all right to take them when they are about 11/12 years old, if: 1. you've got tickets for seats (it's terrible if they have to stand up for hours and don't get to see much); 2. they really like the Stones (then they won't mind the waiting);

Listening to the sounds samples on rockpassion.com on headphones I thought I heard one clean amp against one distorted amp (and a little timedifference, maybe a delay).

Yeah, keep in mind it's been some time since their last real show. Then it's a very brave move to play live to the world press and even more so as a fivepiece. A week ago I found it hard to believe they would do that and I'm very happy they did. And I prefer my rock 'roll a bit sloppy to boring perfection!

Could be the live ambience echo. Did they use multiple guitaramps? If so I might have heard one clean amp against one distorted amp (and maybe a little timedifference, delay).

Sounds great, but listen to it on headphones (on rockpassion). Seems like 3 guitars to me (?). I'm I right or have I consumed my rock 'n roll too loud lately?

Hi Stonefan, I have a problem with Under My Thumb (Pontiac 12.01.81) on your great Rockpassion site. It skips and jumps. Is there a way to solve it? RnT

Bruno wrote: >I suppose the Stones are recording digitally, don't they? How do you do an analogue mixing from these digital recordings??> If they go or analogue mixing it's not very likely they've been recording digitally. Wouldn't make sense as it would take two unnecessary transfers from digital to analogue and back (for the mastering).

I saw the HBO-show (januari 18th) on a bootleg DVD yesterday and it surprised me in a positive way. I had already watched the show several times on 4 flicks, but the raw sound of the "on the spot" mix (less loud vocals, louder guitars, although sometimes also a very loud piano...) was very exciting. My friends (who hadn't seen this show before) were really impressed, especially by
