Very nice to read others are watching this show. I love Woody, and always have. Love non-ROMCOM McConaughey too. Anyone seen BERNIE? MUD? He's great! Anyway, the show feels like Twin Peaks if Flannery O'Connor was the producer and writer. Which means a special treat for a guy like me. Can't wait to see what comes next.

Live south of the Ohio River and could not afford the travel to the nearest show. Otherwise, I would have once again paid the extravagant ticket prices. Followed it all on YouTube, IORR, and Stones.com. Not the same thing, but I guess better than nothing. Is it just me, or did Mick J. seem like he was more genuine and less posturing during Mick T.'s stand-ins? Everything of good quality

Yes. Dig deeper with an open mind. It may not be the radio we grew up with, but it is out there.

I respect the many good parts of Keith Richards but after I read his autobiography, I felt very disappointed in him...He can be an intelligent person who's good with words and appreciates books. But for every fascinating and honest part of "Life" there were numerous lapses of memory, misstatements, lack of honest and tasteless statements. It's called an e

Whatever his best solo song may be, you'll find it on Wandering Spirit, but I have to say that EVENING GOWN is the best song the man has written in a long long time (3 decades?). There have been some good ones since then with the Stones, but that song is something very special. The kind of special that will be re-discovered and covered over and over again by various other musicians who know

Though it would be sad, and more than disappointing, I'm fine with this being the end. However, if Charlie did actually make these comments, this web site is the only place to find it. Wouldn't that be pretty big news, covered by VH1, Pitchfork, Rolling Stone.com, etc.? Nothing yet though. We should probably give it a few minutes, hours, days, and see if this is actually picked up b

I will reiterate the aforementioned, just so's the point gets across: THE DRIVE-BY TRUCKERS are incredible!! A solid band, lyrically and sonically, and chances are they are coming to a town near you in the next few months. Tix around these part (the great state of KY) are under $30. Do yourself a favor, and catch them.

It was because of my parents that I inadvertently stumbled upon the Rolling Stones, but they never said, 'here boy, listen to this.' Of course, in my younger days (I'm 34), radio was more of a means of entertainment than ROCK BAND. However, I think we have to accept the fact that our youth will in fact discover music through video games. I have no doubt that ROCK BAND or GUITAR HER

In defense of Keith, I think that very few of his contributions to Steel Wheels, Voodoo, or Bridges are of low quality. In fact, they are my favorites and some of the more enduring tracks on the albums in question. "The Worst" "Thru and Thru" and "Thief in the Night" are three of the strongest songs released by the band in the last 30 years. (As is "Slipping Awa

I felt WARPAINT suggested that an album like BEFORE THE FROST ... was on the way. I can't believe I'm saying this after all these years, but I'm downright excited about the Black Crowes future output. I give all the credit to Luther Dickinson, he really knocked something loose in those Robinson boys, especially Rich.

I don't think, and I might be wrong, that Palace Rev. is knocking the lyrics and melody on those two records (Southern Harmony and Amorica). As a 20+ year fan of this band, the lyrics have suffered since AMORICA. It began on 3 SNAKES, and got progressively worse and then real real bad with LIONS. WARPAINT was a step up, and hopefully the new one will be even better. The lyrics to I Ain'

Yep, ol' Wes is one of my favorites, and primarily because the guy knows how to use music. "Ooh La La" was used perfectly in RUSHMORE and I AM WAITING had a prominent moment in THE ROYAL TENENBAUMS with a brief snippet of RUBY TUESDAY, if I remember correctly.

Yep, imposter, that is the very scene I was referring to in the initial thread. Scorsese introduces Johnny Boy earlier in the movie as he plants a mail bomb for no apparent reason, but the JJF scene is the real introduction. Love how it opens with him checking his pants with the host at the front door of the bar (which is always red). Great movie, and still never talked about enough for my taste.

Wow Genie what did ya hear when ya first spun Stoned? That happened with EXILE, and in a word, "God" or the greatest rock and roll band ever. Which for me is the same damn thing. OOOOPS, maybe you mean the song "Stoned." The first time I spun that I felt like I was breaking the law. I also used to turn down the part in SYMPATHY that goes "I was around when Jesus Christ

I also thought it may be a trick to fit the lyrics to the melody. Just cram them all together and hit the rhyme. Know what I mean?

For the longest time (before the Internet) I thought this was the first verse in Brown Sugar: Ko-Ko Shay she bought a cotton field Slowin in the market down in New Orleans God O say she’s doin alright Here in with the women Jus around midnight I even wrote and recorded a song with an old college band of mine titled “Ko-Ko Shay.” And to this day when I’m drunk enough and feeling just th

There are certain filmmakers, particularly Martin Scorsese, or in my case only Martin Scorsese, that have used music by the Rolling Stones and changed the way I thought about it. I can't hear Jumpin' Jack Flash without thinking of Johnny Boy (De Niro) in MEAN STREETS, or hear "Can't You Hear Me Knockin'" without remembering how Scorsese had the balls to use all 7min

...because so many other lesser known bands can play it just as good if not better, and without all the drama Yep, that is probably true. But true for every band. For every well-known band there are 10 "lesser knowns" that do it better. Always has been. Always will be. One could argue the Flamin' Groovies did it better than the Stones, and what about Peter Green's Fleetwood

Well, for me, the best songs since STEEL WHEELS have been the Keith tunes -- so I think I'd get a little excited for Rob Fabroni. "Thief In the Night" "Thru and Thru" "The Worst" -- that says enough for me.

I only know that word on the Black Crowes' message boards is usually negative concerning Luther. But we wouldn't know anything about negativity over here, would we?
