You guys are sick. I like Bill Clinton, but his affair is going to be a part of American History forever. Why not be able to make a joke about it. And Bill Clinton was the best president we had in recent years? Why? Because he catered to the outside world and charmed his way into the hearts of the world outside of the USA. He was ever bit a crooked politician as any other. Just because he didn

The wife and I are in the final stages of planning our holiday next month. We'll be flying to Dayton the week before the show and will be in Louisville and Cincinnati from the Thursday before the show until the Sunday after so I think we'll be there. Question for those attending: As I will be flying in from Germany, an oasis of alcoholic beverages, I could probably bring a couple of

I kind of like Chuck - but that's probably because I'm an Allman Brothers fan and Chuck's work on songs like Jessica and High Falls is outstanding. The guy can play, improvise and jam. Some of the live versions of High Falls from the Chuck/Lamar era just blow me away. Chuck still guests with the ABB sometimes and plays the legendary Jessica solo among other tunes.

My wife and I would love to come but we're not 100% certain we can make it because we're still in the planning stages of our trip to the U.S.A. I think it's really great that you're doing this. Building bonding communities around music is awesome and those that promote it such as Drake are real stars. Take care! Duane-O

Probably means "choice." I know the German word "Wahl" means choice and election at the same time. Maybe it's the same in Spanish?

Just booked the tickets. It took awhile to get through to Ticketmaster but we're going. We're flying over from Germany on 23. September and are staying with my parents for three weeks in Columbus. A nice little weekend in Louisville shouldn't be a problem. See you all there! Peace, Duane

I had a strat that I sold before I came to Germany four years ago. I put Seymore Duncan Hotrails in the neck and bridge. It was a little too much for the brdige, but the neck pickup sounded great (I always used an Ibanez Tube Screamer in addition to the pickups and the sound was off-the-wall. The sustain was awesome).

If somebody had asked me my opinion a year or two ago I probably would have said the same thing. I guess I've changed a lot in the past few years because this philosophy just doesn't do it for me anymore. It's too, well, liberal (and it pains me to say that as a proud Democrat). We'd all be innocent of all of our wrongdoings if everybody lived by this philosophy. I think it

Yeah, that's true, but before I found the ABB I was on a mission to find the best example of techniquie and emotion I could find. When I found the ABB I was under the impression I found it, but the guys they've had in since (Dickey, Warren, Jack, Derek and even Jimmy Herring) are pretty good as well. As much as I love the Stones, the Allman Brothers will always be my first love and this quote here is just pure bull feces. Duane Allman should actually be number 1 on the list. The guy was 24 when he died, accomplished more than any guitarist before him as far as music is concerned and will be overlooked for the rest of his life. Why? I have no idea. He paved the way for slide guitarists to c

I can accept this because it's probably true. Please note it's not referring to the Stones as an American band, but they probably could be considered one of the biggest rock'n roll acts in American history in terms of sales and tours and radio airplay. Additionally they - alongside the Beatles - were probably one of the greatest influences of popular music coming out of America. Yo

That's not what we're asking for. We're just asking the guys to lay off the booze, dope and coconuts in order to be competent players so we can all agree that we're getting what we paid for. They don't have to do a 30 minute Mountain Jam with "My Favorite Things" and "Will The Circle Be Unbroken" teased in the middle followed by a 13 minute Whippin

Nobody said they wanted to see a Satriani or Steve Vai. That's why I always use the Allman Brothers Band as an example, especially the current incarnation. The playing of Warren Haynes and Derek Trucks isn't based on what you've called "technicians." They're solid players with imagination. The improvise melodies and are pretty good at leaving bum notes out. That s

I’m sorry, but I’m not with bv on this one. No offense to the guy – his work here is tremendous – but I have the feeling that, if the four members of the Rolling Stones collectively attacked him in some dark alley in Harlem and proceeded to arse rape him and beat him to a pulp only to leave him for dead, he’d still find some way to justify what they did to him. A couple of thoughts for those o

Derek Trucks - he's starting to make a name for himself but was already showing veteran guitarists up long before he was even able to grow facial hair. Ask a young guitarist nowadays and they probably haven't heard of him (yet). The guy should be more well-known than what he is.

With all due respect to those involved in this discussion, here are my thoughts (not that you’re interested): 01.) What’s so wrong with Garth Brooks? He was probably one of the only mainstream country artists that made pretty decent music and from what I’ve seen his live shows were pretty great. I try to be objective with all things music because I know that, while the Rolling Stones is one of

I never was a Springsteen fan. He came to Germany in 2003 for the Rising Tour and I thought, "well, I should probably go see him just to say I did." I bought "Greatest Hits" and "The Rising" as primers. They were OK, but not the Stones and definately my alltime favorite - the Allman Brothers. I went to the concert in Ludwigshafen and it just blew me away. I'v

I'm still waiting for BV to chime in with some lame-arse message supporting the Stones as if they're infallible like he always does. I already sent my Frankfurt tix back. As far as I'm concerned those money grubbing greedy scrotum-suckers can lick my nutsack. I've thrown thousands out the window buying their merchandise, music, concert tickets, etc. and this is the thanks I

Football games in America are shown on public television stations which every household receives free (ie. NBC, CBS, ABC, FOX, PBS). They make their money with advertising. There are T.V./Radio dues like in Germany for example. Two quarters of football are played back to back. There is a 30 minute halftime. More later . . .

Um, Andy, no I don't understand, 95% of the tickets given away were for teams other than Germany - why should a German want to see England play Trinidad and Tobago? Since when did these two countries become "my country?" My take on it is different: One is a sport, of interest to some, and the other is a rock band of interest to some. andy js Wrote: --------------------------

My opinion has always been "to each his own." I personally prefer Baseball, but then again I'm a big fat dumb arrogant and ignorant American who doesn't know anything beyond his front door. The company I work for is catering to the soccer fans 100% - it's sickening. They even had a lotto for World Cup tickets. Ask them to have a Stones ticket lotto and they'll lau
