When: September 29, 2006 – After the show
Where: 717 West Market Street – Louisville, KY
What: “The” post-show party.

If you are attending the Rolling Stones show @ Churchill Downs and would like to come to the post-show party, please sign the guestlist. If you are not on this list you will not be allowed into the studio. This is not from an elitist attitude but rather due to comfort. I am only posting this information on IORR and Shidoobee. I don't have anything against other sites but if I post this everywhere the studio will be overwhelmed. Please do not post this anywhere else or tell people about it at the show.

Feel free to bring any party accessories of your own, but there will be a $5 cover charge so that we can take care of drinks for everyone. The entire Stones discography as well as a decent collection of ROIOs will be DJ'd throughout the night. If you have an amazing boot that no one has ever heard, or you just wanna hear really badly, feel free to bring it and we'll crank it. (yes, we'll take requests. especially if they're chanted loudly.) If I manage to pulloff a good recording of the show I'll be glad to blast that as well.

The studio is located at 717 West Market Street, which is between 7th and 8th street...


Red = the studio
Blue = the Galt House (good for getting your bearings in downtown)

question- from my hotel on 333 east market street, if i took a cab to the show will i be able to get one back, because when i went to boston i had to wait 2 horus after the show just to get a cab because they were all full

brewcrew I think you'd be better off using the TARC (transit authority of river city). its our bus system and i'm sure it'll be running specifically from downtown to the show. i dont know much about cabs to be honest. ohno is the expert in that department... you may be able to get some kind soul to take you back downtown.

Brewcrew, apparently we are staying at the same hotel!

I'm hoping we can get something arranged transportation-wise for to and from Churchill Downs.....someone on the Shidobee board (I am on that board as HickoryWit) is proposing a shuttle of some sort. Keep in touch.

yes its at 333 east market street- so how would this shuttle thing work out because there aint no way im driving

My wife and I would love to come but we're not 100% certain we can make it because we're still in the planning stages of our trip to the U.S.A. I think it's really great that you're doing this. Building bonding communities around music is awesome and those that promote it such as Drake are real stars.

I think it will pick up folks at various hotels....not a definite thing yet, but I'll keep you posted. If our hotel is not listed (although there are several Stones fans staying there) the others are in walking distance.

I really don't want to drive either, but I think there is a shuttle leaving from the Univ. of Louisville stadium lot, so there's always that.

Drake's right, you don't want to be trying to take a cab to or from the show. You'd wait forever or more likely never get one at all. I'm planning on taking the bus instead of driving because I think getting in and out of the parking lot is going to be hell. The bus will likely stop somewhere outside of the parking lot but within easy walking distance of the entrance to the show. Another good thing about the bus is you'll save $20 in parking fees.

If you're downtown you will probably need to catch the bus on 6th St., but it isn't determined yet. When something is announced I will post it here.

I just joined this list. I like the Stones...I like Alice Cooper better and this was the main reason for me to the show because I am an Alice fanatic. However, to see yet another legendary band like the Stones together with the Master of Shock Rock is too much.

Since people are bringing Stones music and such to this, if i was able to come, could I bring Cooper's music?

Stodgeco + 4 Local Fans with a needle and a spoon! Or a bottle of Whiskey- I can't decide.

You all are in, but the list is now officially closed. We've reached our limit.

Although we'll all dig Alice Cooper I'd say its nlikely that we'd play much at the party. Everyone will be going nuts about the Stones so that will be the vibe all night. You're welcome to bring it though. If you can get everyone to start chating "Alice! Alice!! Alice!!!" and so forth, we'll play it gladly.

We'll vote on that as it gets closer... I say a little bit of everything. Scratch that. A LOT of everything.

Wretched excess - woo-hoo!

The wife and I are in the final stages of planning our holiday next month. We'll be flying to Dayton the week before the show and will be in Louisville and Cincinnati from the Thursday before the show until the Sunday after so I think we'll be there.

Question for those attending: As I will be flying in from Germany, an oasis of alcoholic beverages, I could probably bring a couple of whatever (Korn, Obstler, Jägermeister, maybe some Hefe Weizen?). Let me know and I'll see what I can do. I don't want to be held up at the airport because I look like I'm importing tons of alcohol, but a couple bottles here and there won't hurt and it's the least I can do for the hospitality and generosity of drake and others for making us all feel welcome is Louisville.

Duane anything you bring would be just fine but you dont have to bring anything. And I'd hate to see you miss the Stones because someone confused a bottle of Jager for a liquid explosive...
