Save your breath Limbostone. The dude's so far up the band's collective arses that it's not funny. I hate talking like this (and probably run the risk of being kicked out of here because of it - fascist, if you ask me, but he makes the rules nonetheless). I've never read anything less than positive and pro-Stones comments from him. Never a negative or neutral comment. It'

Actually that band isn't illegal anymore - I assume you're talking about the Böhze Onkelz? They're as legal as a twinkie is in the USA, but Simon's right, they released their last album last year or two years ago and did their "Abschiedstournier." I think it ended in Chemnitz or something. But we all know what farewell tours are like . . . Peach out, Duane n

Jelle - how can you not know a thing about me but have the audacity to judge my character based on a couple of rants I posted about being unfairly treated by the Stones camp and their promoters? Since when did a legitimate gripe call for personal attacks? Have you ever heard of hyperbole or over-exaggeration? Have you ever said, "I'm starving" when in fact you were just really h

The only problem there is I live near Frankfurt so the concert ticket doubles as a subway ticket to and from the show. If I drive the 200 km to Cologne and back then I'll probably be out €90.00 in gas charges and won't be able to drink the amount of beer I'd like to because I have to drive home. I'll admit, it might seem petty b*tching about it. I guess it's just a mat

Hi Firebird, Unfortunately the difference in which modal verb was actually used in the email from Eventim has little to no significance in this case - my opinion at least. Either way I have to make a decision before Thursday and before I know when the Frankfurt concert is taking place. Let's just say I paraphrased the email - I didn't quote it. To say my email was "simply not tr

I admit, I did go overboard on the profanity (I tried to disguise it), but as much as I want to see the Stones, I still don't think that I (27-year-old Duane who earns just under €30.000 a year in Germany) am being treated fairly - especially with over €300.00 on the line for two tickets. That may sound like a small sum to some of you but it's a lot for a guy with the a.m. salary living

I received an email from Eventim regarding the postponed Frankfurt concert and the possibility to buy discounted tickets for another show in Germany if I can't make the rescheduled Frankfurt date. I have until Thursday to buy the discounted tickets to Cologne. How can I say, "I'm going to by tickets for the Cologne show because I can't go to Frankfurt" when I don

I don't know either - someone answered it about a year ago either here or on the Rocks Off tracker. I think it has something to do with the format of the disc (FAT32 I think) and it "can" lead to problems above a certain block of space (I think 2 G. Most DVDs on Rocksoff were ISO files in the past, but after this a lot of people started seeding them as just the "Video TS&q

Does anybody have a version anywhere they could seed as a "Video TS" folder and nicht an ISO image file? I don't know the technical side of the issue, but there's a specific disc format that won't allow ISO files above something like to GB and the bt programs claim you don't have enough space. Azureus won't even attempt to start it on my machine. I'd hat

I just received my email from Getgo. If I want to I can order tix for any other German concert at face value minus €20.00 per ticket and have until June 15th to do so (this is, if I can't make the Frankfurt date). Isn't this a bit stupid? I mean, I don't even know when the Frankfurt show is going to take place and they're already telling me I have to make a decision? Oh wel

To Andy: I'm only repeating what I've been told countless times by the Europeans, albeit mostly Germans, I've come across. I taught English in Frankfurt before coming to the company I currently work for and, in addition to learning English, we learned about English-speaking countries. The stereotype listed below summarizes all of what I was told. I would never try to assume somethi

Hi Whale - I wish I could believe you. Why then is the typical European stereotype of an American a fat, dumb, sloppy, loud, fast-food eating, religious fanatic? Because most Euroepans really love Americans? I want to apologize for getting so over-emotional with this topic. I've just been disappointed almost to the point of depression with the way I have but haven't been accepted by

This is correct - I'd never claim the US did it alone, but their involvement was necessary. And America was involved before Pearl Harbor (which had nothing to do with Europe), albeit more passively, supplying the British with supplies, pilots, logistics help, etc. Of course, that was just the US playing the world's policeman. Arrogant Americans! How dare they help the British and

Nobody said U.S. foreign policy couldn’t be criticized by Europeans, it just the fact that their barks are worse than their bites. Many Europeans purposefully look for things to criticize when it comes to the United States. I’ve read posts by Europeans on this board making a fuss about the divide between the American rich and poor and the Patriot Act as if Americans are ranting and raving about

Exactly, I'm not what you'd call "patriotic" and I'm openly critical of our politicians, Democrat and Republican alike, if their job merits criticism, but this hits the nail on the head. Why do I get the feeling we as Americans are expected to apologize for not leaving Western Europe to the Russians? My wife's grandfather (German) was captured by the Americans in

I’m a 27-year-old American male who moved to Frankfurt, Germany from Columbus, Ohio after graduating from University in 2002 with a degree in Journalism. Do I feel unwelcome in Europe? Nope. Do I feel uncomfortable? Quite often, yes. But I think it depends on what you define as “unwelcome” and “uncomfortable.” Most of the Europeans (Germans) I know - and this is a generalization - like to n

I use Fuji - the company I work for is a major European distributor of Fuji video and data storage so I buy directly from them (which I think is about half the normal price I'd pay at the store). The blank DVDs are noticeably cheaper as well.

Not at a Stones show - but I was backstage three times at Allman Brothers shows. Cleveland and Cincinatti in 1998 and Cleveland again in 2000. I've got a copy of Eat A Peach somewhere signed by all surviving members, a broken drumstick and a copy of the setlist with a nice big footprint from the stage on it.

If we're able to consider Blondie's time with the Beach Boys then I would personally - being the nut that I am - Chuck's tenure with the Allman Brothers Band, more specifically the album Brothers and Sisters. Chuck owned Jessica and his work in Ramblin' Man, Come and Go Blues and Southbound is also fantastic.

I was under the impression money and economics wasn't a factor as far as the Stones tour is concerned, but rather giving the fans the best possible show ever. Those that got the crappy stage must feel pretty crappy now.

Just for those ABB lovers (I stopped posting after the first three shows because I thought it would be too much): The ABB wrapped up their 14-show stay at the Beacon Theatre last night. The highlight for most probably has to be the large guest list this year, ranging from Gary Rossington, Peter Frampton, Hubert Sumlin and Taj Mahal to John Hammond, Leslie West, Robert Randolph, Chuck Leavell a

I first got in to the ABB in 1996 when I was about 17 or so (the last year Warren and Allen were in the band). My first show was the Columbus show. Statesboro opened and Whipping Post closed. I'll never forget it. I - like most - love Dickey Betts. He and his music was what turned me on to the ABB in the first place as I'm more in to country rock than blues rock. Blue Sky is probably

Jessica will pop up, I assure you. But think of this - they've played three concerts so far - Thursday, Friday and Saturday - and have already played almost 50 different songs. They still haven't done Jessica, Worried Down With The Blues, Black Hearted Woman, The Same Thing and coutless others that are typically a part of their shows. That's what I love about the ABB - you re

Please see below for the setlists from Thursday and Friday. The guys aren't the Dead but to know that, not including this year, they've played over 80 songs in the past three years. The thing I like about the Allmans is that, although they're a jam band, they don't noodle on stage. Their solo spots are strong and convincing. Enjoy! Allman Brothers Band Beacon Theatre - NYC
