I loved the Libertines and even the Babyshambles CD is not bad, but Pete Doherty is losing his mind, injecting people and spraying blood from a syringe is verging on psychotic. This guy need serious help, or he's finished soon.

Most Americans may know him as the ex (?) boyfriend of Kate Moss.

I think that is his destiny, which is fine if it's his choice. I don't like him dragging other people down with him though.

well, while i agree that it is unacceptable for him to do that, this is also pretty bad. these quotes were taken out of a newspaper article. last time i checked, the papers were meant to stick to the facts. opinions stay in the editorials.

That kid, and that is what he isc -a little lost kid, needs some real help. Someone to beat the crap out of him and then stick him in rehab and show him some love.
I think people that make a point to follow his exploits and then post them etc are empty. Blaming him, calling him disgusting... that brat is so zoned he doesn;t have a clue of what he is doing. Smoking rock, shooting dope in front of everyone. Reminds me of Sid Vicious carving himself up in front of a bunch of leering Texans.

Where as I agree to your points to an extent, I Cannot help but disagree about your point about those who post about him. Unlike the majority of journalists and Joe public, I was not only aware of the man before all of this, but I was foremost, a fan. Those who've followed since 2002 know that he's always had drug problems, the difference between know and then is that he wasn’t dating Moss and as a result, wasn’t playing up to it. The Libertines meant so much to me and many, many others. They were the most wonderful, colourful and interesting band to come out of the London music scene in years. Everything from their red military jackets to they're philosophies was compelling. They were absolute one off's and it's a shame that more don't appreciate the band and who Doherty was in those days. As I've stated on the Rocks Off board, it's terrible, but he’s dug his own grave here.

Yes Big Al, you are totally right. They were a wonderful band. And the "press" (if you can call those rags that) are trying their best to make everyone forget that this started with there beign a really good band once. PD is only doing this because someone els eis filming it and writing it down. Even his quote refers to that. Those rags are not going to rest until he is dead.

not true- he ha been an amazing songwriting talent... but his demons are destroying him.

Exactly. It's very true that these boards get clogged up with irrelevant and pointless topics from time to time, but this one is music related and lets face it, every time I post about Doherty it attracts interest. I'm sure BV could scour these threads and find far more obvious choices for closure.

well at least he didnt write a song called HEROIN .... i would think Lou & friends have a bit more to answer to ... but that is just the way it was back then, if you lived thru the 70's YOU KNOW - back then EVERYONE got high, it was accepted and expected... maybe everyone didnt shoot up but many many many of us did and yea alot of us are paying for it now

thats what makes this guys behavior so sickening, everyone knows better now...
