OT: Allman Brothers wrap up Beacon run . . .

Just for those ABB lovers (I stopped posting after the first three shows because I thought it would be too much):

The ABB wrapped up their 14-show stay at the Beacon Theatre last night. The highlight for most probably has to be the large guest list this year, ranging from Gary Rossington, Peter Frampton, Hubert Sumlin and Taj Mahal to John Hammond, Leslie West, Robert Randolph, Chuck Leavell and Ben Harper.

For all of the setlist moaners on this board, the Allmans did 90 songs in 14 shows. Fantastic! I've been listening to the first half of the run and it's magic. I can't wait to get my hands on some of the boots from the second half. A list of songs played and number of times played is below (and FYI, the Lovin' Cup played wasn't the Stones song). Most of the covers had at least a Duane connection (ie. The Weight, the Derek and the Dominos stuff), and the Blues standards were out of this world:

Wow, that is one impressive list! They should put this run out as a boxed set.

Good God look at that list! What a fine band! I hope some of these shows will be available at least on their web site. Although I wouldn't know where to begin picking one...I would probably end up with them all...so box set it is! I just hope I can afford it!

Layla, Key To the Highway, Why Does Love Got To Be So Sad...ya think Derek is gearing up for his next gig?

Looking forward to Clapton's run @ the RAH in May. Anticipating how Derek will fit in.

The discs I offered to send you GRATIS are in the mail, and yes, for some reason your emails are still going into the "junk email" folder on Hotmail (in spite of my efforts to allow them through). I NEVER read that folder because I get 50-100 messages a day in there. I just delete them all about once a week.

Mail from the US to UK can be slow...but they are in the mail.

"The discs I offered to send you GRATIS are in the mail"....afraid that is open to question...and I was willing to pay in any case...

"they are in the mail"......no, they're not...as bob said in 1966: "i don't believe you, you're a liar!"
