Sorry, not a Doors expert although I do enjoy their music. I saw this posted on rollingstone.com and thought some of you guys would be interested.

The surviving members of the Doors will come together in West Hollywood next month to kick off a celebration of the band's 40th anniversary. Drummer John Densmore, guitarist Robby Krieger, and keyboardist Ray Manzarek will be at the Whisky A Go Go on November 8th, when the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame presents the club with a "Landmark Plaque" to mark the venue's importance in r

One suggestion I can offer if you really want to buy a bootleg. Google the title of the bootleg. Sometimes you'll find a site that sells them. It helps if you can decipher Japanese.

After all the suspense, the Stones site is now showing some band called the Fray opening in Atlantic City. Ugh. Vegas gets Bonnie Raitt and Honolulu gets George Thorogood. Lucky them.

I'll cast my vote for Pittsburgh, especially if you like Pearl Jam. Tough call over Hershey. Both were way better than Baltimore in my opinion. Those were the only 3 I made it to.

It would be possible, however, for them to play a USO show for the troops in Iraq although I'm sure that would be a security nightmare for all involved. I'd think they would be more likely to play Israel as Roger Waters did recently. Once again, a security nightmare.

I saw the much hyped new Martin Scorcese picture today. Great film. Not nearly as good as Goodfellas, which was a masterpiece, but pretty damn good nonetheless. Jack Nicholson was his usual creepy self, and the rest of the cast played their parts well. The soundtrack includes the Stones "Gimme Shelter" and "Let It Loose" plus the Beach Boys' "Sail on Sailor,&

I always carry my cameras in the side pocket of my cargo pants. They hardly ever pat me down there as it isn't part of their standard routine.

My favorite (non-Stones) band introductions were by Roger Waters on his first solo tour in 1984 with Eric Clapton. He said something like "You know me. You know him. Now here's the rest of the band..." Him meaning Clapton of course.

To clue in the clueless, most likely. It could be worse, I have several Black Sabbath bootlegs where Ozzy introduces every single song with "Here's a song called..." Ugh.

Sticky Fingers was not an ABKCO release. It was a Rolling Stones Records release, first on Atlantic, then CBS, and now Virgin.

I've never heard a Clapton bootleg post-1977 without "Cocaine" - aside from his all blues tour in 1994 - and I've got dozens.

That's assuming Keith can even still play the Gimme Shelter intro. It was painful to watch him play it in Baltimore earlier this year.

I've heard many rumors but I'm anxious to find out who it's going to be. It's not going to be Alice Cooper as many had thought since he has a show scheduled for October 27 in Reading, PA. What's funny is that Pollstar is showing both Paul Stanley (of KISS) and Taj Mahal as playing the House of Blues in Atlantic City that same night. That seems like an odd combination f

Meat Loaf: It's All Gravy As contract disputes go, the battle surrounding 'Bat Out of Hell' was a doozy. Now, with the third album in the rock-opera trilogy set to be released, the dust has settled. Well, sort of. By Johnnie L. Roberts Newsweek Oct. 9, 2006 issue - It's been one helluva stretch for Meat Loaf. In April, the singer, whose two "Bat Out of Hell&qu

Tough call between A Country Boy Can Survive - Hank Williams Jr. and The Devil Went Down to Georgia - Charlie Daniels I once saw the latter performed in a bar by a heavy metal cover band with an wicked electric guitar solo in place of the fiddle. That was funny as hell. What could be more metal than a song about the devil?
