10 years isn't long enough? They've been talking about this album ever since the old band split up. If this thing ever does see the light of day, it will be the most overhyped disappointment ever. keefriffhard4life Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > The GR Wrote: > -------------------------------------------------- > ----- > &g

Here's the entire article from Blender magazine for those who care: Run for Your Life! It’s the 50 Worst Songs Ever! Some have crap-tastic melodies. Others are wretchedly performed. And quite a few don’t make any sense whatsoever. Blender removes its earplugs to present the 50 tunes we love to hate By John Aizlewood, Clark Collis, Steve Kandell, Ben Mitchell, Tony Power, James S

Let's not forget Starship's "We Built This City." That must have ruined what little credibility they had left. That song was even voted the worst ever on some meaningless list in the recent past.

Even worse is seeing the video of that ugly tattooed freak singing it. My vote for worst song ever goes to the "Macarena." Painful memories of going to clubs in the 90s and watching drunk white people trying to dance to that trash. Ugh. A close second would have to be "It Takes Two" by the ever forgettable Rob Base & DJ E-Z Rock. I loathe this song for that monoto

I seem to recall the Altamont soundboard recording being mentioned in the Gimme Shelter DVD (Criterion) commentary. It's been several years since I watched it but I seem to recall some mention of a soundboard recording made by Bill Graham that was broadcast on FM at the time. If my memory serves at all, I think I may have even heard the Graham recording. It was quite thin and crackly fo

The main problem with heavy metal is that most people can't agree on what is and is not "heavy metal." In my opinion, Led Zeppelin, Aerosmith, Cream, Jimi Hendrix, etc. are not heavy metal. AC/DC, Guns N' Roses, KISS, and Van Halen are borderline heavy metal at best. Black Sabbath, Judas Priest, and Iron Maiden are heavy metal without a doubt. Jethro Tull - not ev

Who are the best singers in heavy metal history? According to Hit Parader magazine, Robert Plant from Led Zeppelin and Rob Halford from Judas Priest are the two best men for the job. The magazine has published their list of "Heavy Metal's All-Time Top 100 Vocalists," and the editors said, "Assembling our list certainly presented a daunting task, considering the breadth and sco

I've been proud about my love of the Stones for the past 25+ years. Although I enjoy many other bands, I have always claimed the Stones as my favorite. I still don't wear any paraphernalia with tongue logos on it unless I'm at a show. I have found that most people who wear clothes with tongue logos or claim to be fans really are not more than casual fans at best. Of all the

What I really hate about the Stones is all their whiny ass "fans" who have nothing better to do than bitch about everything they do. Don't like it? Go follow the Grateful Dead. Oh yeah, that's right... Be grateful the Stones are still around. Enjoy it while it lasts.

It's all about the price of CDs. Sell them for $18.99 and go out of business. Sell them for $12.99 to entice more people to come into your store full of overpriced electronics and prosper. Simple economics. I for one have no sympathy for any retailer charging that much for CDs. Good riddance.

Wasn't there a skit with someone impersonating Mick doing a duet with someone impersonating Sinatra? I'm thinking that would have aired sometime around the early 80s .

Here are 2 of my favorites: A scientific expedition disembarks from its plane at the final outpost of civilization in the deepest Amazon rain forest. They immediately notice the ceaseless thrumming of native drums. As they venture further into the bush, the drums never stop, day or night, for weeks. The lead scientist asks one of the natives about this, and the native's only reply is &quo

I once had a free ticket to see Phil Collins on his 1997 tour. My roommate won 2 tickets from a radio contest but neither of us cared enough to go. Point being that Collins wasn't a huge hit with the college crowd back then.

November 4, 2006 -- BARBRA Streisand is no Jim Morrison, but she has an open invitation to do a Doors song. Ray Manzarek, the band's legendary keyboardist, told Page Six: "If Barbra wanted to sing 'Riders on the Storm,' or any of our songs, it would be wonderful. She's got a great voice. We once tried to get Frank Sinatra to sing, 'You're Lost Little Girl,&#

Release a 2-DVD set but exclude certain tracks to be included as an exclusive bonus disc. Naturally Best Buy, Target, and WalMart would each have a different exclusive bonus disc, forcing the die hard fan to buy it 3 times to get everything. That brings the price up to $80-90. This seems to be the latest trend among the big chain retailers. MicksBrain Wrote: ---------------------

Of course they'll play Tumbling Dice. That's like saying the sun will rise. Most worn out warhorse in their repertoire.
