Agreed that its a fantastic album. Somewhat overlooked. There isn't a bad song on that first side. Definitely would be on a list of great album sides for me. And the second side isn't too bad either. Short And Curlies & Dance Little Sister are fun little songs, the latter a pretty great rocker. And I've always enjoyed If You Really Want To Be My Friend. Nothing great but I'

QuotePalace Revolution 2000"Blinded by Love" is unlistenable. The ridiculous lyrics, and the over production. Same goes for "Rock and Hard Place". I don't know about the studio version but I think the live version of Rock And A Hard Place on Flashpoint is great. Nothing outstanding but I always find myself getting into it when I hear it on that album.

Personally I love Streets Of Love and Sweet Neo Con has never bothered me. I'm always surprised when I see these lists and they don't include songs like "Dance, Pt. 1", "Hot Stuff", "Emotional Rescue" (although thats technically a hit). Those songs absolutely suck, especially the first two.

Agreed. This is all amazing news. I'm very happy that Ozzy is so on board. He really has to be to make this all really great, as do the rest of them, but they've always been a part of the band heavily. Rick Rubin could not be better news. Almost every album he does is gold so it actually gets me excited about new original lineup Sabbath material. Whoever thought you'd be saying

Wonder if hbwriter has any dates that they may have announced. I'm guessing it probably won't be till later next fall for the US judging by the Download Festival date. I'm also wondering how much of this new album is completed. I mean, I can't imagine they're almost done and NO ONE knew about this or how far along it was.

QuoteJumpinJeppeFlash Quotestonescrow Quotemr edward Nonsense post. No doubt the Stones are energized by the incredible passion that is on display right here at IORR, 24/7. They have all the money in the world. They do it not only for themselves but for their fans. The money at this stage is secondary. Haha, what a joke, Jagger ONLY does it for the money, he has never cared at all about the f

Quoteripthisjoint908 well the MT era is in my opinion the best. i'm not saying he didnt make the band good or successful. i'm just saying for a blues band he was so technical. great player, just didnt fit the loop. True but they were also making their best albums, IMO of course. So I see your point that he might not have fit in, but I figured if they were as successful as they had ever

I won't shoot you up but I don't agree. I wasn't around at the time but I feel like there was no way to know how long the Stones were gonna continue at the point that he entered the band. And he joined, then they made tons of amazing albums. So in my head, after he participated in those amazing albums, he became the guitarist they were gonna try to keep. That would be the classic l

Quotejamesfdouglas Do you mean the one that was a bonus on the Rock and Roll Circus DVD? To my knowledge, I knew that there was a SFTD remix video on the Circus DVD that was fatboy slim or whatever. I remember that just being a weird kind of dance type video although, again, I could be wrong. Or theres another video on the Circus DVD that I don't know about. The video I saw was on televis

Doesn't seem AWFUL. Honestly sounds like a modern day version of the garage rock that Velvet Underground played. Sounds a bit monotonous and dull to me, but I was also never a huge VU fan either. This is the first song I'm hearing off this album and I really expected way worse.

I feel like years ago I saw a promo video for Sympathy Of The Devil and I've never been able to find it since. I know it had that piece of wool that Mick uses in the Rock And Roll Circus video so it gets me wondering if it was a different video or just that one? I feel like the version I saw wasn't as long and Mick didn't take his shirt off but I could be wrong. Anyone know of this

My dad always played the Stones and it just rubbed off on me. Because I think of them as so essential, right up there with The Beatles, they never seem like "old people's music" to me but I can see them construid in that way. For me, the music is timeless and I love the Stones. For my younger brother on the other hand though, they are probably definitely seen as "old people

I don't know if they'll ever do another tour. It seems its very plausible they won't. However, I'd be extremely surprised if they didn't play one last show or stand in the UK or something to close it out. After all the attempted "farewell" tours over the last 20 years, it'd be hilarious to think they'd actually end their career without notice. I have t

QuoteTheDailyBuzzherd QuoteRollingFreak a huge dick move That explain 95% of the rock "reunions" out there. In particular, the ones advertising the original band only to have the bassist appear, LoL. True. But do your research then if you care enough about the reunion. I wouldn't go to a reunion and then be surprised that the bassist is the only original. I would have known that

QuoteTheDailyBuzzherd Not being a buzzkill, but nowhere does the OP state that there is a musical reunion happening. Perhaps it's a re-release announcement. Remember, Ozzy sued Iommi last year. Unless I HEAR it, it didn't happen. Not doubting you, but if it were a re-releasement announcement, I think they'd squander rumors for the fans. By posting what they have on their website, i

You mean as a band or each of the individual members? Because I have a feeling that some of those years you listed some of them were doing solo stuff. Does that count or do you mean exclusive work in terms of Stones material?

Rough Justice, Let Me Down Slow, Oh No Not You Again (I was a fan of A Bigger Bang); anything off the new rarities Exile disc if you haven't already heard that; Highwire. And I know its not recent and not technically 70s but Tattoo You has some great stuff. Hang Fire, Start Me Up obviously.
