When I first heard those two I didn't like them at all, but they grew on me to the point that I consider them to be great songs now.
I think cherry oh baby is one of the greatest Stones reggae songs and i love it, black and blue is great album, I love the lyrics in sweet neo con - political songs are really rare in Stones cannon, but the song itself is bit boring musicially, - i think the worst songs can be found on Undercover and dirty work,...oh well..
Yeah, me too. Fantastic groove. Love that high note Keith sings. Great track and one of my live favourites from the 76 tour - Shake It Up!
Wonder if they could still pull it off live?
This is indeed The Worst. Yet, isn't it strange that ever so often, a new thread pops up and wants to talk about this song? I guess that will happen until Rene's Track Talk finally reaches the letter "W". Then, we can all link to The Worst thread.
WTF! If you said the "remixes from the 90s", I'd agree
But the Undercover 12" version is eben greater than the album version. And the same thing can be said about "Feel On Baby"
"Hold Back" is not a great song, that's true - but it features some great guitars IMO. But that's all just subjective.

Good start, but "Cherry ..." ain't bad.
A good chunk of "December's Children" is crap as is some stuff off "Flowers".
"My Girl", anyone? Also, a goodly portion of their '80s output should be burned.
"Moon Is Up" off "Voodoo ..." is ruined by a drunken pedal steel solo by Wood
( the instrument sounds like a kitten being strangled slowly ) and "Shattered" 's
rhythm guitar always annoyed me. "Gomper" is the jam that never gels, just as
in "Going Home". "Somebody to Love" sounds amateurish. For a title that promises
"It's Only Rock'n'Roll", the LP doesn't satisfy that promise.
I have to say that "Sweet Neo Con" does qualify as among the worst of the worst,
if not THE worst thing they've ever recorded. Far too literal, it has none of the
poetic qualities of say, "Sympathy for the Devil".

I had A Bigger Bang on in the car today and heard Streets of Love and Sweet Neo COn and decided to make a list of the ten worst Stones songs in my opinion

Streets of Love and Infamy are two of the better tracks on ABB. There are 4-5 clunkers on that album that I can't even remember because I haven't listened to them in so long (oh yeah, your #4 NeoCon is one of them; thanks for reminding me).
I like Fight from Dirty Work, but I agree on Winning Ugly and Back to Zero. Zero and Don't Hold Back are their worst of the modern era.
When I was 17, I always skipped Suck On the Jugular. Now that I'm older and wiser, I kind of like it. I guess that makes VL one of my favorites, overall, since I like every single song on that album. So sue me.

Personally I love Streets Of Love and Sweet Neo Con has never bothered me. I'm always surprised when I see these lists and they don't include songs like "Dance, Pt. 1", "Hot Stuff", "Emotional Rescue" (although thats technically a hit). Those songs absolutely suck, especially the first two.

Someone above said Sweet Neo Con had good lyrics. To me its rushed and just thrown together. i had trouble coming up with ten. Going Home is just boring to me. There really is not a lot to dislike. Dirty Work is really the only album I don't like at all.
