Amazing footage of a very young Mick Taylor with John Mayall´s Bluesbreakers from 1967. Title says Marquee, I think it´s from Cooks Ferry Inn, Edmonton, London (december 9, 1967), filmed by a French televisioncrew for Baton Rouge.

Well, the guitar is not out of tune (which string is then?). He is just playing the wrong notes. He's more a bluesguitarist who's trying to do some fushion. He tried to do that on these first I'm Free's on the 1969 tour. Without much success.

QuoteStonesTod QuoteCarnaby Wish there was stuff from the '50's with the original band. Nothing seems to exist. the recent 60's boxset includes a very nice 45-minute show from '63, previously unavailable. very cool.

Quotemitchflorida Do yourself a favor and remove Bridges to Babylon from your CD Players, and replace it with The Very Best of Cream. Your ears will thank you. Some of you may not be familiar with Cream, so this tune can be a reason to remove your Bridges To Babylon cd:

QuoteDandelionPowderman One more thing, concerning the Bruce/Taylor project. I'm a big fan of both as musicians, but the material they were playing here wasn't exactly gonna make them big stars. Very strange songwriting, though well played, imo. The live boots I have are completely without hooks. I think Bruce was living in a bubble at the time... I agree, and as strange as the songma

Quotemitchflorida I would disagree here. Brian is clearly trying to take charge as being the true leader of the Rolling Stones. Not only during the interview, where Brian injects himself into a conversation between Mike Douglas and Mick Jagger (and succeeds in making Mick look foolish) but also during his performance of Not Fade Away, where Brian is playing the harmonica and pretending to be t

Quotemitchflorida Some observations. "Keith Richard" seems really obstreperous on stage during this period. Also, I am sure that Mick Jagger was completely pissed-off at Brian Jones after this appearance for trying to spread rumors that Mick was gay. This shows Brian was the leader of the group ever so briefly . .. I don't think Mick was pissed off at all! And Brian did not

QuoteAmsterdamned QuoteSacke Guitarist Eelco Gelling of Cuby and the Blizzards!! John Mayall considered Gelling as a replacement for Peter Green in John Mayalls Bluesbreakers, just before Mick Taylor got the job. I think Gelling's playing is far more exciting than Taylor's was in 1968. BUT... then you've got Taylor on fire with the Rolling Stones...wheeew Don't worry,Gel

Footage of the Rolling Stones at the Houtrusthallen (The Hague) was shown on Dutch television last wednesday. The story is told about a Dutch politician (once a Secretary of NATO) Joseph Luns whose 17-year old son took him to this concert. The concertfootage starts at 01.53 mins... dewerelddraaitdoor.vara.nl/Video-detail.628.0.html?&tx_ttnews=17286&tx_ttnews=626&tx_ttnews=148&k

QuoteMathijs It could be old as well as new soundwise, it's just a cranked small Fender amp. But to me it's clear Taylor's part is a total edit job. The song was a work in progress with Taylor noodling over it, and they just took the best parts and edited them in different spots. Some riffs feel a bit off and out of place, something Taylor would not have done in '72 or '7

Taylor would have played his parts far more interesting in 1970/1971 than he did now (2009/2010?)...
