QuoteNICOS Quotemakim Pammy, please send a private mail, I can point you in the right direction! Please share it in the group if it's worthwhile............ Mmmh, isn't that risky, to tell everybody where you can find all these wonderful records/cd's that shops weren't allowed to sell because these records are illegal? A few weeks ago I visited a big city in the south

Quotemattleeuk Sacke: I have this amazing Not Fade Away book (Geoffrey Giuliano), 256 pages. Why shall I buy this new book? mattleeuk: Not Fade Away / The Rolling Stones Album as it was called in the USA is THE book that inspired me to collect. It is a truly fantastic book based on the collection of Chris Eborn. Having said that I have never actually read it, just looked at the pictures! The

QuoteMadMax The Perth show is a killer, I also like that dry sound, even though the reverb on for instance the Brussels '73 serves the sound right. The sound of a (bootleg)recording doesn't tell me anything about how the Stones actually sounded...

Quoteflilflam Great video. I would like to see the Stones cover more Chuck Berry songs. Actually, Berry's version of his own song is much better than this, but this version is very good. Well, I think you're talking about Chuck's studio-version...because I never heard a better live version than the 69-tour version by the Stones.

QuoteErik_Snow Mind noting; I bought the bootleg DVD of this event, 2-3 years before it was released officially (on DVD); and the soundquality of the bootleg is much better than the official output. The guitars are full of fire on the bootleg, while they are mixed to sound sterile on the official output. Sounds like doing a 'lading and gentlemen' to me...

I must say Mick's bassplaying is quite basic (= good) bassplaying with a few nice phrasings. I would say very 'Wymanish'....and often you hear it when it's a guitarist who handles a bassguitar. Charlie's bassdrum and the bass are going well together. It's only the abrupt breaks that sound a little weird, but that can be the result of some producers activity.

The beginning of the verses is a little bit (chords/melody) like this one: However, I like the dynamics of your song...and the voice is a little bit Peter Gabriel..

Wew...never knew Ron Wood was involved! Got the tracks on a cheapo bluescd back in the eighties. Now I read that drummer Twink (Pretty Things/Tomorrow) was also a member. And i won't call Lord's sound dated, it's just this hammond sound (B3?). You can't call a tenorsax dated, would you? Very nice and heavy (drums)sound, it doesn't sound 1967, I always thought this was

QuoteAmsterdamned Quotecrawdaddy QuoteAmsterdamned QuoteMathijs QuoteAmsterdamned QuoteMathijs If you take into account that a lot is added to Taylor's solo by the SVT's turned to ten, 20.000 people in attendance and a live band instead of click track as backdrop, this guy nails the solo. Mathijs Then you might as well wipe the entire Rolling Stones under the carpet. As usual I

It's fun to 'see' what Mick played, but this guy's vibrato (for example on 0.55 min) is annoying!

Quotetheimposter Anybody know the slide tuning for the original album version? My guess is it is open of some sort, G or E, since Keith wasn't a terribly experienced slide player and I find slide in standard tuning to be more difficult. Haha, Keith wasn't a terribly experienced slide player is an understatement!
