It was a standard procedure back then for Mick and Keith plus Jimmy Miller to do the final mixing, if this the correct term, for several albums during that period. This included additinal playing, guest musicians etc. My question is whether somebody else from the band was ever present there. Furthermore, do we know if the final track listing was everytime decided by Mick and Keith, or maybe Jimmy

QuoteDandelionPowderman If by chance there are any horn players out there, we've got lots of work for you If anyone who plays an instrument or sings are interested in joining us, we've got a Facebook group where we discuss the progress, post embryonic versions, talk about arranging the songs etc. Very good, really impressed! What's the Facebook group link?

QuoteRokyfan The thing is . . . it's the Keith set. He likes to do his songs there, understandably. He's not going to take his 10 minutes in the spotlight and do someone else's song, which would negate his whole point. Which is not to say that keith with an acoustic doing old blues couldn't be great. But it will never be part of a Stones show. Didn't he do Buddy

Nice post, yes! Thank you! Is this 13 1/2 hours charging 65 per hour? So would be approx. 140 hours for a 10 tracks session for a standard LP, in total approx. 10000 USD in 1969?

Quotetreaclefingers Part of his greatness/style is in the way he holds the sticks, no? There was a thread somewhere way back in the digital ether that discussed this. Watts' jazz style way vs. Ringo's rock style way of holding the drum sticks. Yes, there is a thread. I found it, as I happenned to start the conversation back then (2011) trying to find out some inforamtion on his st

Well I've got Stones albums in various CD versions (SACD, Virgin mid 90's editions etc.) but I also have more than 50 vinyls ranging from very good to so and so condition. I started to collect Stones cds no sooner than 1995-96. My first Stones album which I bought only as a cd was Bridges to Babylon. Up to then and since 1976 I exclusively listened to vinyls. Then something went wrong w

QuoteTornAndFried QuoteKirk I wonder if they shared a mic to sing together in the early days, up to 1967? Or in that case Bill with Brian and/or Mick or Keith sharing a mic. In the early days it was often necessary to share a microphone onstage as the sound mixers back then had only 4 or possibly 8 inputs.Today they can have over 100! Yes, I know, and you are right in this, but watching for e

Another one..the last time Mick used maracas or tambourine during a song. I remember 2003 at the Olympia during Dance, when he used this strange drum, and maracas for a very short instance in 1989 but a tambourine, it has to be a long time since.

After 1989, has Keith ever seriously tried out a (radically) different amp or amps set, leaving out his beloved fender twins for a certain tour? Or in that case, has Pierre ever suggested something like this and if yes what was the outcome?

StratoGR,take into consideration that first, Waters changed the venue as originally planned, plus, it is Pink Floyd that are were really popular in Greece and not Roger Waters with back-up musicians playing Pink Floyd music. If it was a Pink Floyd concert we would have 70000+ attendants. For the Stones now, yes, if they keep it well under 100 Euros, whatever the venue, it will be packed.

QuoteTorres QuoteKirk QuoteChristos According to this newspaper, the Stones are likely to play in Athens, Greece this summer (also rumours for Bruce Springsteen and Bob Dylan) Hey Christos, I have seen similar info elsewhere, so it seems that is is going to happen in Athens!! Sure they will. The Parthenon will be sold in order to pay the band. Oooooh! What a profound comment....
