Songs they've opened with a few times that they should give another shot
Date: April 6, 2015 05:18

When the lights go dark and the crowd starts roaring i dont really care what they're about to play, just ready for something great.....With that being said i've compiled a list of stuff they've done a few times i'd like to see again

Paint it black
Only Rock and roll
you got me rockin
Rough Justice

.....keep on rolling.....

They wont open with any of those songs. But will do Only Rock & Roll and Paint it Black in the set. The opener has to be a real rocker, that everyone in the stadium knows, as the goal of that song is to get the audience warmed up and into the show. Then their set becomes fairly predictable.

I bet they open with Jumpin' Jack Flash or Brown Sugar or Start Me Up.

I would love SFM again, that was a killer opener.... Also As for your comment about "rockers" which one of those are not a "rocker"

Those are good Rockers, but I meant the big hits that everyone sings along with, like the ones I mentioned. Look at their last few stadium tours and look at the opening songs, that tells you what they'll do. Mick is a creature of habit and goes with what works.

LITTLE QUEENIE!

This would be a kickass opener in a stadium. I don't think there is a Stones fan out there who doesn't know this tune. From the Chuck Berry classic to Ya Ya's, this track is primed for an opening number.

Little Queenie melted my face off at the Colisee de Quebec on the B stage in 98.

It would be nice to see them open with whatever they opened with in the early to mid-sixties....

However, this is 2015 and people are paying top dollar (a number of them for their first and possibly last time) to see legends play their classic hits.

So they will open big with something everybody who listens to classic rock radio knows, throw in a handful of choice nuggets in the middle, then close out the show in the typically triumphant blaze of glory.

What else should be expected of them at this stage?

Get Off Of My Cloud was a great and brave opener.
I am surprised they didn't do it more often than they did or performed it on more regular basis like other classic tracks.

Yes I Wanna Be Your Man was an awesome opener and gave hopes for a much more exciting concert than we eventually got.

Satisfaction is still my favorite opener. The slow and majestic version of 97/98 is the best they ever did.

The dirty raw Honky Tonk Women of 1976 was a cool opener.
It would not be as cool with cheerful backing vocals and boogie-woogie keyboard by Chuck.

Brown Sugar would be the most logical opener since this is the Zip Code tour.

Under My Thumb or a Chuck Berry number

Let It Rock would be my vote, but it ain't gonna happen. 99% of the drunk, stoned kids didn't know it 1978 and 99% of the middle-aged folks drinking merlot and eating garlic fries won't know it in 2015.

Satisfaction.

Loved it when they opened with that.

I also like NFA as an opener.I would love to hear any of these as openers or anywhere in the set, really:
Get off My Cloud
If you can't rock me
Let me Go
Live With Me
Luxury
Rip this Joint
Rocks off

a really hot "the last time" might be enough to tear that whole place down.

I don't think they will do any more Berry covers. Seems like the waters have been tainted there.

I really liked Get Off My Cloud, I Wanna Be Your Man...

But I do think it'll be Brown Sugar. I saw them open with that in Singapore and it was pretty amazing. The crowd went berserk.

If this tour is all about celebrating Sticky Fingers, then Brown Sugar would be the one.
