Yes, I think I have to agree with the comments above. That is, I don't think that Keith sat down saying "Well, let's do something for this one using the mixolydian mode of the relevant key the song is on". This goes for all his favourite licks and fingerings which can of course be explained and interpreted in terms of music theory: added notes, suspended and diminished chords
