As someone who deals with old documents a lot - it looks as if they've just found that at the bottom of a damp box somewhere, complete with a very rusty paperclip. Great to see it though - thanks jazzbass.

I wonder if they paid it. I recall that Jim Dickinson never got paid.

Wonder why they itemised the song. Thought all three tracks would've been bundled into one bill.
Great post.

The rust of the paper clip even did cut the paper.......that's why they invented plastified paper clips grinning smiley.....but on the other hand it's more difficult to identify old documents.....bla bla.......I'm curious what work you do GreenLady......

Nice post, yes! Thank you! Is this 13 1/2 hours charging 65 per hour? So would be approx. 140 hours for a 10 tracks session for a standard LP, in total approx. 10000 USD in 1969?

So if you break down the studio time, it would be my guess of the billable rate of $65/hr., the engineer maybe got paid $8-$12/hr., the assistant $5-$7 ( just my guess) a reasonable rate to be paid in those days, no doubt. But anyway you slice it, it just blows my mind how little it cost to produce some of the greatest, most important recordings of all time.

jazzbass, I doubt the assistant would have gotten $5-$7/hr in '69. From experience it was $5/hr In Vancouver in 1990.

Wow. No offense, but even in 1990 that was TERRIBLE! I guess it's one of those jobs you do out of the love for it.

I think there is an order of fries and a milkshake missing from that invoice.
