QuoteHMS At first I liked Almost Hear You Sigh, but with every time I heard it, the song became more and more boring. Finally I heard it in concert 1990 and I almost fell asleep. Almost Hear You Snore? Yeah, some of it hasn't aged well. Love Keith's SFTD solos on this tour, and overall this is a great sounding show.

QuoteDandelionPowderman QuoteHis Majesty QuoteDandelionPowderman Citadel is my favourite on TSMR. I wonder why so few like The Lantern? Love that one as well. I love The Lantern as much as Citadel. Keith's guitars on both are ace! Lovely guitars indeed! Both those tracks are great. Citadel is one of Keith's best riffs. It's a hard rocking beast. Indeed, it probably mar

For a Vegas era rendition, I have fond memories of hearing a great version played at the Skydome in Toronto in 2002. I'm not sure if a boot exists of that show or not, but Mick spat out "shattered" with real attitude that night, instead of the lazy "shabber shabber" delivery that has marred many versions for me. For classic era, I'm partial to '78 over '

Quotecorriecas QuoteTeddyB1018 I would be very surprised if Keith didn't do any gigs to support the release. I have been on a short holiday the past week. Any news about Solo Gigs yet ??? jeroen Nothing yet. Though the consensus seems to be that there should be a few select dates. Probably coinciding with the release date. Chances are, if it does come together, it probably wouldn

Quotekeefriffhards QuoteBashlets After reading the MOJO article it appears Keith plays all the guitars on the majority of the new album. It sounds like Waddy just came in for a few days to add some slide stuff at the end. Reminds me of Beggars, and Let it Bleed. Im actually getting very excited about this release. Something in my bones is telling me its gonna be real good. Hope Im right. Me too

I'm really psyched for this. Jagger's been developing this for ages and who better than Scorcese to do a gritty 70's NYC period piece. Bring it on.

QuoteMilo Yammbag Good solid song IMO, its got a cool feel to it, Should've been on Some Girls. I have often wondered if the song is about golden showers though. Am I being naive ? or is the topic veru obvious ? Milo, NYC I'm sorry girl but I can't stay Nah. It's just your basic Mick put-down. Blowing off an old flame...I'm over you and doing great etc. G

Quotestonehearted <<I've probably heard Undercover Of The Night maybe 3 times at most.>> If you had been 17 in 1983, having been wowed by Tattoo You 2 years earlier, you would have loved it and listened to it often, enough for the song to take you back to that year when you listen to it even 30 plus years later. <<a relatively obscure '80s cut from their synth pe

Sure The One You Need? Like the one from the 70's? I like it allright. It's Berryesque, but it has a nice arrangement. Trouble just kind of muddles along. And to be clear, I don't think Trouble is bad. Just unremarkable. I'm sure it will chug along fine in the context of the album, but it's not lead single material IMO. The Keith fan in me is absolutely thrilled there&

Quotekeefriffhards QuoteBashlets I respectfully disagree concerning TROUBLE. To me it gets better every play. Sure it sounds like other Keith songs but who cares. It's not LET'S WORK or STRRETS OF LOVE so I am happy. To my ears, his guitar on the long version hasnt sounded so raw and nasty in years including some good ole Chuck Berry licks thrown in. Thumbs up for me. This is what mak

QuoteMunichhilton Quotejahisnotdead QuoteSwayed1967 And Jagger's 'lyrical wizardry' disappeared about 40 plus years ago. You honestly think Mick Jagger hasn't written good lyrics since 1975? I have to politely disagree. "Saint Of Me" and "I Go Wild" are two examples off the top of my head of what I would consider superior lyric writing and as good as a

QuoteKoen Tom Waits also a great rendition of Goodnight Irene on one of his later albums, which is also on Keith's upcoming album. You can't really go wrong with a Tom Waits album, but if you like the style on Rain Dogs, I would look at his later albums such as Bone Machine, Mule Variations, and Orphans. +1

A resequencing wouldn't address the underlying faults in the album, is my two cents. I still think it suffers from a bad mix, unfortunate mid eighties production fads, and weak songwriting. That said, One Hit is a great track. Strictly Memphis is one of my favourite outtakes from any era. And on a good day, I could see the charm in a couple of other tracks. But I simply can'

QuoteRipThisBone PS edit: You should understand rap (no capital R) very well I think. A normal person like you and I is not interessted to air rap all these lousy/agressive etc. lines to a liveless beat. Rap died with The Sugar Hill Gang in 1979 or so. That's absurd. Hip Hop only started getting interesting in 1988, and most older hip hop fans would say it lost its way in 1997. But th

The moment when Ventilator Blues fades into Just Wanna See His Face is like being drawn through a vortex into a strange and mystical world. To go from the dark heart of human nature into gospel like that is a stone cold trip. You don't wanna walk and talk about Taylor, just wanna hear him play...

They are in a groove of six weeks touring, few months off. It's clearly working. There is no reason why they can't keep this up for a while and no reason to doubt that they won't.
