QuoteThe Sicilian I think they sounded really good from the Periscope clips I heard before falling asleep when Miss You started. If anything, I think the band's playing has surpassed Mick's singing. I've come to believe that he will not sing a lot of the songs because he can't sing it with the growl or earlier high pitch that he used to. But lets be honest, many here are gr

Quotemaumau about somegirls those who: "I cant stand them how they became so slick and "Vegas", I'd better love them train wrecking guitars" would soon comment: "OMG what a mess!" me I love the rolling stones I think a lot of the time it's the off-putting combination of the slick, Vegas action happening simultaneously with some less than inspired

QuoteNaturalust That's it? Don't get me wrong I love the acoustic and electric slide guitar approach but give me all the guys crowded around a couple of mics with all of them singing in the old blues tradition over Jagger and Lisa and Bernard any day. It sounds ok, but a more group vocal approach, warts and all is what I'd prefer. I've got the feeling this is the last

Wow, now I'm conflicted. I parachute into this thread and what's this I read about riff songs being boring? I love fighting the good fight for MT but good lord, Keith's riffs are everything to me. Oh my word, I think I have a touch of the vapours...I need to sit down.

Yeah thanks Cristiano(and Tumbling Dice) Accentuating the positive, the bit from 2:20 through where they nail the landing into "Chinese girls are so gentle" (3:30) etc. is especially good.

QuoteMunichhilton Quotelem motlow QuoteTurner68 texas was not so good, and san diego was pretty strong. they're not the most consistent band. you got it backwards-texas was the stronger show with san diego and minn about the same. atl looks to be as good or better than texas- they are picking up steam. Apart from Knocking I like the Texas setlist better. Rocks Off was out of this wor

Quotejahisnotdead Here is about a minute of You Gotta Move from last night. My phone ran out of memory, so I didn't get the full song. Very sorry about that! Rolling Stones Live In Atlanta GA 2015 - You Gotta Move (Excerpts) In the cut off intro, Mick is saying "We went to visit Stone Mountain the other day. I think somebody should build a Rolling Stones Mountain next door!"

Quotekeefriffhard4life got the 2 cd set. does anyone think the "alternate" takes of CYHMK, bitch and dead flowers are either studio run throughs or tour practice? micks vocals on CYHMK and bitch seem very loose and lazy Nah, that's just scratch vocals. It's part of the process when songs come together in jams. You hear it a lot in outtakes, by various artists. Mick thr

Maybe he should play his own shows, and play the sticky fingers album in its whole. That would be something. Soul Survivor "I don't think (I wrote it about Keith). No, that's not about Keith at all. Soul Survivor? I don't even know if I wrote that. It sounds like one of Keith's". - Mick Jagger, 2009

From the latest interview in Rolling Stone: "One notable absence was former guitarist Mick Taylor, a key collaborator at the original Sticky Fingers sessions. In 2012, nearly 40 years after quitting the Stones, Taylor returned as a guest on their 50 and Counting Tour, but he won't be appearing on this run. "Mick Taylor is a shadow, man – he comes and he goes," says Richards

QuoteBeauforde Thw whole thing nets out as a downer for me. The stones are energetic enough to do a real tour, but not ambitious enough to get in the studio for 1-2 months and try and come up with a new album. And still no truly bringing mick taylor back into the fold. Bullshit. Nostalgia entrepreneurship... The stones have been the finest stones cover band for 20+ years now. What a waste. They n

Quoteroller99 Quoteandrewt Words of wisdom, Kahoosier. And bonus points for the Norm Peterson reference. It all can get a little silly in fan world. I've seen it happen when the boys rehearsed here in Toronto. Some people get obsessed with climbing some sort of fan totem pole, when ultimately, nobody really gives a shit. I've been on both the right and wrong end of these things

QuoteStoneburst QuoteNikkei Quotekleermaker Quoteroller99 Ronnie did a great solo on CYHMK last night. Mick Taylor who? When? I listened to it, but to spare your feelings I won't comment on it. I didn't hear a single flubbed note on that Knocking solo. Ronnies tone was also very warm and sustained like the studio version. If you refuse to even comment on it Kleermaker, we'd

QuoteDandelionPowderman CYHMK was great. Really? From the clip online, it sounds like the guitar solo never took off, then went into the ending early, then kind of went somewhere before ending again.

Everybody just cool out! I think one thread for Stones fans that wish Taylor could add to the legacy once more to vent is fine. I agree we should move past it in after-show reviews to save everyone time. Ronnie is great. Mick Taylor is great too. So the first guy, what was his name again? Listen, some people are just dreamers. Let 'em dream. P.S. good to see Max back here

The main go-to's are usually Philadelphia Special and Brussells Affair, and there are a bunch of other good board recordings. NYC, Perth, Fort Worth etc.
