Quotekeefriffhards QuoteDeanGoodman Quoteflacnvinyl I would far rather complain about the stupid hand motions and cheerleading that are done by Lisa and Bernard. Go listen to Brown Sugar from the Fonda gig and hear the "SUGAR!" repeated forever while Ronnie and Keith play aggressively and low in the mix. She acts out a lot of the songs, complete with weird facial expressions, as if tr

A lot of people hate on this track, but I think it's a great little number. The dry production and that horrible drum sound take away from it, as do some of the campier lyrics. On the upside--killer bridge, as others have noted. Supremely funky. It coulda been a contender if a few better decisions were made in the production process. Too bad some of the down n dirty blues feel of

Quotewith sssoul "We're not THAT band anymore, anyway. We're a bunch of different bands. English reviewers seem to have this weird idea of the Rolling Stones as being this band and we've never been THAT band, but they imagine we are. We can do THAT band if we wanna... I don't see why we can't make a record that doesn't sound like the Rolling Stones. We

QuoteThrylan OK.......he occasionally approximates it......but not often. The suit/cape......Chuck driven....stinks. He is just physically limited at this point- and that's OK, but at least acknowledge it! I haven't heard a "modern" Sympathy that I really liked. I have been impressed with his work on IORR, and a couple others....... Bitch is a crapshoot......lol Yeah SFT

QuoteThe Sicilian Some things that stuck out in my memory: The crowd stood in the entire stadium from beginning to the end of show, pumping fists, jumping around, dancing, and yelling in a typical rowdy Buffalo atmosphere. Using the binoculars, I noticed at the corners of the floor at the beginning of the cat walk is marked with a strip of green and orange tape maybe to prevent Mick or Keit

I went down there once for an end of ski season party. Great spot. Lots of fun. The owner is a big time Stones fan.

Yep. And then cue the complaints about why there's no official news in the rumours thread.

I went for Whip this time, but you really can't go wrong with SFM either. They've been nailing it every time.

QuoteGasLightStreet Quotedrbryant QuoteGasLightStreetOn a double album that is scraping the barrel of things that are optional for time on an album to "fill it out", EXILE has that (and their 3 recent, on vinyl anyway, double albums, VL, BTB and ABB, clearly have filler). After all, they dipped into previous sessions to fill out the album since it's not all from France because, as

Quotebitusa2012 Quoteandrewt QuoteWitness However, the Four Tops' version of the Monkees' hit "Last Train to Clarksville" appears to me as an ideal case of the definition of 'filler'. Can we agree that the Stones version of the Temptations hit "My Girl" is filler? No, it's a cover, not a filler. And a good one. Interesting perspective.

QuoteTurner68 Quotestonehearted You mean IORR is going from a fan site (as in fans of the Stones) to a fans of fans site (as in fans of Stones fans)? I wonder what people in the Stones organization will think of that. There is a stones organization? Explain stoneism then... Stonesology was taken?

I like to think that he saved up a fair bit scratch from the 12/13 tour, and MJ gave him the number of a good financial advisor and that he's coasting comfortably at the moment. Then Ronnie will round him up for a blues night in London during hiatus. Too bad he's not out there on the big stage making magic right now but that's how the cookie crumbles.

Filler was when the record company wanted to cash in on a band that had two hit singles (with two b-sides) and threw them in a studio for three days so they could release an album. The new songs were filler. The album by Wild Cherry that has Play That Funky Music on it. that's filler. It's different than not batting 1.000

The whole coining of the phrase "Scarf Me Up" and the creation of the character of Keith's scarf- the malevolent force that is really behind all those blown opening riffs. That's message board magic. See also: being Omaha'd. I also recall Thrylan saying he saw Stonestod in a Trader Vic's, and his hair was PERFECT!
