Somebody really should proof read these stories before they make Yahoo News! "The rock icon is singing a new tune, literally. The Rolling Stones singer has recorded a song in ancient Sanskrit, "Satyameva Jayate." The single is being released under the band SuperHeavy, which also features the Rolling Stones' Dave Stewart, Oscar winner A.R. Rahman and Joss Stone."

Don't know, but if he does, he should go after the attendance record, and they might just get the highest grossing along the way. If I could get decent tickets for $50 or $75 I'd go to every show I could stand to drive to. How many people do you think get really hyped when they hear the Stones are coming to town, say they're definitely going, then a month later still don't h

Quotevermontoffender Posters on a Stones board complaining that Keith Richards hasn't been active enough for them? Funniest thing I've heard in a while. Good call!

Tattoo You is a very average album to me. Slightly better than Emotional Rescue, miles ahead of Undercover, but overall, pretty damn lazy. Bridges to Babylon blows it out of the water. That's a band making new music that they care about. Then they quit caring cause all their fans didn't care. So sad.

I'd love to see Bill Wyman back, but I hate three guitar bands with a passion. That being said, Wyman has made his point pretty clear on numerous occasions that he wants no part of it.

QuoteDragonSky Thru And Thru. By of all people, KEITH. Amazing. I read the thread title and was getting ready to say what you said word for word. I blew my mind cause I'd read an interview the year before with Keith where he went into great detail on the evils of synthesizers.

QuotePalace Revolution 2000 QuoteHis Majesty The Lantern definitely features tremolo, from a Vox Conqueror, so no need for the question marks. Can I also say that IMO no question marks needed for "Tie You Up" for for reverse reason. There is no tremolo; there is liberal use of a whammy bar. Listening to Tie You Up made me dig this outrageously groovy song. It is tight number. Agre

Mick will suffer a terribly embarassing flop with SuperHeavy then Keith will get the call to reboot Mick's ego.

Quotedcba QuoteChefGuevara How can you guys get so ahead of the release and already decide you don't like it? Easy you just have to refuse anything that's not stamped "Glimmer Twins". (sometimes I really think Mick's embarassed by his "fans" ). Sometimes I really think Mick's fans are embarassed by him. I watched the SuperHeavy preview video on mick

This guy doesn't take off three years in between tours. He basically stays on the road. Two and three month breaks don't really count. I've seen him nine times and loved most of them. I wish he'd get off the piano sometimes, but I love the twisted versions. You can't really expect him to keep doing the recorded versions of the songs night after night after night. He

Y'all are crazy. I must be from a weird point in time generation, but to me, Voodoo was by far the best Stones album since Exile and Bridges only topped it. I wouldn't take any song off of either one. I think they are the second Stones golden age. I still listen to both of them start to finish. They are well written, well developed, and well played. How can you get rid of 'Br

Quotestupidguy2 This is good news. I liked the Chili Peppers, but they always seemed to be stuck on one groove, thier frat-boyesque Cali version of P-funk. I don't remember any Stones references before with the Peppers, so maybe this is new direction for them/ I always get excited when a band or artist I like seemingly discovers the Stones as an influence. Im wondering if this included B&a

Is it just me, or is Mick Jagger the only current member of SuperHeavy with any perceived relevance. Joss Stone was pretty big in 2004 or something, as was Damian Marley. Dave Stewart was huge in 1984. Why has Mick joined such a weak crowd? I don't dislike any of them, but I can't see it being any kind of commercial success, and I think Mick always sets out for a commercial success.

Quote71Tele Quotepaulm Some of you are missing the point that Keith not appearing on Letterman shows Keith's class. Letterman is a self-aggrandizing, self-absorbed, perverted shtunk. Look it up in a Yiddish dictionary. I think some people mistake smugness for humor, because they think, "Oh, he must really be in the know, and more clever than I am." I identify smugness with smug

QuoteThe Stones It's good to read that Keith's arthritis is of the benign type, it doesn't hurt and it doesn't really affect his ability to play the guitar. That is great to hear. I assumed it didn't hurt. Those fingers have looked pretty bad since about '92, but seemed to work. I guess I just read so many opinions on iorr about Keith's "debilitating a

Almost sounds like a backwards guitar, but too much in control. It's driving me crazy. I've been trying to search for guitar effects used in Fleetwood Mac's "Dreams", but theres nothing available on that either. I think that's the name of that song. "Players only love you when they're playing." It sounds like the same effect on that solo, but I mi

I borrowed one of their first cds from a friend, in his attempt to turn me on to them. It worked. Sounded like The Kinks crossed with Bob Marley's voice. So I bought the new one (last one with all the hits) on vinyl when it came out. Pop fluff. A few catchy tunes, but they're gone.

Really? One string out of tune on one song on one night is a reason to consider retirement? Maybe you need to stick to listening to strictly newly recorded autotuned music.

It's got the two clean tone guitars all the way through, then the third comes in on the second chorus just playing three or four highly sustained notes. Kind of weird sounding but really paints the song nicely.

What is the effect on the third guitar on 'Demon'? It sounds like the same thing as Lyndsey Buckingham used on 'Dreams'. I've seen a band do cover that song live with that effect on the solo, but I didn't get to ask him what it was. Am I the only one who thinks 'Demon' is just a brilliant song?
