QuotePaul Kersey Quotemariano i´m still waitin' for París'76 Not sure why this hasn't been released yet? Cos "they" read IORR and they endorsed the suggestion made here that a Paris'76 DVD should come with a bonus CD of El Mocambo'77. Hence the delay... (Yes I'm speculating!)

So this is different than the DL boot? Interesting... I'll get it! As for the perf itself... Ymmv but to me the gig starts okay not great then it slowly sinks into "meh" territory. I could name 10 gigs from 99 that are better than this one.

QuoteTheGreek Do you want to know another Dress Rehearsal that is better than the actual concert ? Led Zeppelin @ The O2 Arena in 2007 , which is included as a bonus . Yes, they are pretty much standing around versus prancing and preening and such as during a live concert , but imho the rehearsal smokes and blows away the actual performance . I am glad they included the rehearsal . Thanks I&

QuoteTaylor1 I was just listening to Midnight Rambler from Brussels without the vocals to focus on the guitars and Taylor and particularly Keith are on fire.Anyone who says Keith wasn’t playing well on that tour should listen to Rambler Keef did play badly on some nights. Listen to the Manchester show that's been preserved on tape... It's painfully bland.

QuoteIrix Nasty refrain: "I'll stick a gun in your face, You'll pay with your life" - Gunface (B2B, 1997). Meh... That's Keef fantasizing about violence while he's been living in a cocoon of personal security since the 70's. Meh indeed...

Just like with the Miami'94 PPV the rehearsal is better than the actual gig! And Mick seems VERY VERY VERY happy to be here! He reminds me of President Macron on certain occasions... (snif!)

QuoteCaptain Teague The truth is Taylor1 we will never know what relationship these two have, probably because ... YOU CAN'T HANDLE THE TRUTH!! If you imply some sort of homo relation I think you're wrong. If you refer to Heidi Fleiss' "assistants" and lots of C. you might be on the right tracks?

QuoteStoneage "I'm probably the best lead guitar player the Stones have ever had". Nice too see that he's not too humble after all... Well there was only one : him. Neither Brian nor Ron would be qualified or would define themselves as "lead guitar players". They're "just" musicians. "lead guitar player" is a monstrous leftover con

I'd say both Jagger's costume and the mark on the wedge (the British WEM) point to a European source = the 1970 tour. It can't be Paris as at those gigs the 1st rows were occupied by ugly-looking dudes in their 30's! And the faces of the young girls here "look" North-european.

Quotebleedingman Brian. If he'd stayed engaged musically the original Rolling Stones would have taken it to a whole other level. I don't agree. I think his musical ideas were very much rooted in their times = the 60's. While, between 68-72 Mick and Keef basically invented a form of rock that's still relevant today. Therefore I don't think Brian's ideas would ha

Quoterattler2004 Yes Van Halen played with a sense of fun, loud music, good times fast cars, and girls. If that’s unabashedly American and you’re offended or turn your nose up... Imho that's not "unabashedly America" it's just a bunch of cliches that was prevalent in the USA when Reagan was president. A zeitgeist if you like that word. And imo again it hasn't

QuoteRocknroll1969 Who did that before him? I think jimmy page did a little but nothing Van Halen. We know in the 1980’s it became more common. There's a 9 (?) Jan.1969 recording of Hendrix playing in Denmark and at one point you can hear him playing that two-hand tapping stuff EVH got famous for. I think it's during "Tax Free". But EVH should have been fined for doi

QuoteDoxa But I like that acid versus cocaine comparison! - Doxa And let me add I never took either substance (that's true). VH always had to me "Let's party!" "C. is great" "America is back" kinda vibe. That's probably why they never really made it big abroad (unlike Metallica). Okay "Jump" was a worldwide hit... cause it was mor

QuoteDoxa Yeah, up there with Hendrix. - Doxa Really? Hendrix was lysergic guitarist : listening to him was like taking acid - he would turn your mind upside down. EVH was more like a cocaine guitarist : a sudden rush of euphoria but nothing much left after the effect is gone. If you want a tech wizard from the early 80's try Randy Rhoads instead. I still do like idiotic tunes
