Dave Navarro interview in R.S. :

"What do you think about Chris Chaney joining AC/DC?

I think that is just the most awesome thing I could ever think of. I’m really happy for him. It’s no wonder they chose him because he’s so @#$%&’ good, but it’s like comical in a sense that he’ll probably be up in his bedroom, in a hotel, on days off, playing Jaco Pastorius lines because he could do all that shit. Stanley Clarke, all those cats … Then he goes onstage and hits E-A-D over and over and over, all night. But it’s great. I’m so happy for him."

Watching some old clips with Bon Scott. I'm so lucky. I got to see them twice with Bon. When I was in high school they came to town third bill to Ted Nugent & Cheap Trick. They were so awesome the first night, i went back for night 2. Bon was 1 of a kind!

That's awesome!

I've seen whatever on YouTube, have a live recording, all fantastic, overall. Of course not great sound but you get the point. Bon was truly... Brian Johnson has done a fantastic job but Bon was it. No matter how many albums they've done since he died, that era is insanely awesome. After FTATR they got really flat until STIFF UPPER LIP - that's a really really long time. So it goes.

Every album with Bon?

Absolute fire.

I've seen three AC/DC concerts this year, awesome show and incredible energy on stage and that's essential, in the audience, renewed and a driving force. Not just immobile old people who shouldn't be pushed around and disturbed (please don't shout) because they've paid $500...So boring.

----

Taylor was truly... Ron Wood has done a fantastic job but Taylor was it. No matter how many albums they've done since he left, that era is insanely awesome. After Tattoo You they got really flat until A Bigger Bang- that's a really really long time. So it goes.

Every album with Taylor ?

Absolute fire.

I don't recall seeing this posted but it's interesting to read 'the other side' of how tours are put together, in particular, POWER UP.

They sold 1.5 million tickets in one day. … It’s staggering and it gives you great faith because they’re very particular in how they conduct their business. They don’t do VIP. They don’t do dynamic ticket pricing. They never want to hear fans complaining about ticket prices being too high. There’s also a point where we have to push it a little bit because otherwise they couldn’t afford to tour — especially when they’re playing one day on, three days off. … Obviously the goal is to hopefully have them continue if they enjoy it and it works well … to try to keep them out in ’25, ’26, ’27, however long they want to go but we gotta get through Europe first.

Final Europe Tour show in Dublin

AC/DC review: Blistering gig at Croke Park, Dublin, proves Aussie rockers are the greatest. They may have lost key members in recent years, but the AC/DC gig in Dublin proved they can still put on a hell of a show.

Well, I thought prices here in Paris were too much, I skipped the show. I read about the price gouging on the inside - 13€ beers - and am glad we stayed at a pub instead. Zero regrets, as there was no Phil, no Cliff...

From what I've read Matt Laug and Chris Chaney are playing fantastic. From what I've heard they sound fantastic.

Have you gone to see the Stones even though it's just down to Mick, Keith and Ronnie?

$14 beers... that sounds about right, LOL. It's absurd how much venues charge for beers yet alone anything else no matter what country.

Actually, I DID see the Watt-less version of the Stones, at the very same Paris Hippodrome venue! The Stones were great, and beer prices were reasonable as I recall, don't know why they hiked the prices for the AC/DC show.

I'm sure that Matt and Chris are fine players, it's just that I wasn't ready to plunk down crazy cash to see the Brian and Angus show when I saw a more complete version of the band the last time they came to Paris :-)
