What tune is Bitch "inspired" by?

Can't recall the title off the top of my head, but it's an old soul song.
Get Ready?

Yeah! Although I’m not even sure that was the one I was thinking of haha

They should have given Bobby a solo on Bitch live btw

Love the slide guitar tone on this song. I believe I’ve even heard a live version of this song from the 80’s. People don’t give Taylor enough credit for grinding on the road all those years. A true bluesman!

Interesting factoid- just watched a Youtube interview with Martin Barre recalling his audition for Tull after Mick Abrahams departure in November 1968.
Basically a cattle call, with loads of guitarists lining the perimeter of the room and the Tull rhythm section in the middle jamming with each prospect in turn. Among them was none other than Bluesbreaker Mick Taylor. Never heard that before. As we know, Tony Iommi got the gig and was quickly revealed to be a poor fit and Martin got the call.

Mick T. would have been good in Jethro Tull.

That's an interesting thought .

If MT had landed that gig, who would our boys have hired ? .. and what might they have sounded like today ?

[If MT hadn't joined, a different recruit may not have left ...so maybe no Ronnie either. confused smiley]

Tony decided Tull's working methods were a poor fit for him smiling smiley

Obligations towards a band was nothing for Taylor. He lasted 5 years with the Stones. That's his Gold Medal. cool smiley

Re Grateful Dead: "Terrapin Station" was not exactly a noodle fest. More a symphonic masterpiece.

The band I listened to most in order 'to get it'. I never got it.

And the superb irony is Dyan often borrowed songs the Dead played live, but he did them 1000 times better than the Dead did.
"Friend Of The Devil" comes to mind.

To be fair , the Dead have typically been panned for bemusing and befuddling their audience...

..Bob on the other hand has always gotten away with it... and even been loved for it winking smiley

They had Mickey for a while. Then when he split they got Bill. Then when Mickey came back they kept em both and the rest is history. Mickey came back in like 74ish and it was that way till the end.
