QuoteTIRED Documentaries "baring it all" have become a trend in the music industry but the creators tend to ignore the fact that they are putting at risk the images fans have of their idols Maybe Marlon at 54 wants to leave a message to the world? Like trying to firmly destroy the bs that drugs are cool and people don't take drugs are uncool. In a Western world where America

QuoteWorriedAboutYou This made me dislike Keith. He just can't stop with the rock n' roll bullshit. I found this movie thoroughly depressing. Different times I know but they (KR+AP)were just so swarthy, vain, selfish and reckless. There's nothing romantic or appealing about any of it. They were guinea pigs for the 60s drug culture generation and in a sense they were victims of th

Got a glimpse of the show (thank you Dime) and for a premiere concert I found the boys in fine form.

Best song of the album along with "Angry". The fast bubblegum tune "Angry" is 100% Mick. The slow profound "Tell Me Straight" is 100% Keith. Says a lot about their respective personality...

"Susan Ann Caroline Coriat, the mother of Jake Weber, did indeed pass away at Villa Nellcote from a drug overdose in 1971" No Google says it was in London. Considering the French fuzz were eager to bust the band a drug death would have been a golden opportunity to arrest them all.

@keefriffhards : If you want to travel back to 81, have you noticed the 1st few concerts of the tour really sucked? The opening gigs in Philie were pitiful, then hastily added sax player Lee Allen didn't gel with the band at all. It wasn't until the 7th gig of the tour (San Diego) that things started to head in the right direction... Ernie Watts was in and the live machine worked

Thank you Ed! Iirc there were 2 versions/mixes of the show : the one for the PPV broadvcast (made by Bob Clearmountain?) and released by TSP on their "black box", and the radio show mix which was bootlegged some time later. (feel free to correct me if I made a mistake).

Quotegimme_shelter "NOTE FROM TAPER: Dear IORR people, this sounds fine as is and there is no reason to remaster or repackaging with MS Paint Artwork, its great as is thanks." The irony is the tape could benefit from a skillful re-EQ as it is quite "nasal". Anyway we're getting close to the most slowly seeded torrent of the year : it took like 7 hrs to bring it to

Quotekeefriffhards Keith has no input, it's not the Stones, i didn't sign up for that, but enjoy for all those who did. It's not about enjoying it or not. It's about being grateful for having the band playing songs in 2024. if you have someone you care for who's in their 80's (father mother?) you're grateful to have them around, you don't gripe ab

Another possibility would be a revamped "Steel Wheels" : it would be a nice tribute to Charlie (the album is a showcase of the drummer's talent). And according to Nico's site there are quite a few outtakes from 1989. Lastly I wouldn't mind hearing a "Montserrat" version of the lovely song "Gangster's Moll".

Quotetreaclefingers Why in the hell is this so awesome? It's not even really a song, it's just a jam! In a way it is but the finished TY version displays another side of the band's talent : the ability to take a raw blueprint of a song, excise all the weak parts, keeping all the good bits, and slap on it a tremendous sax solo 6 years after the original take was recorded and

RE a potential VL reissue : I really don't see Mick trying to sell the average punter a 2CD edition with outtakes that are already available for free on YT (the Vigotone boots etc).. Plus I don't imagine the man happily going through hrs of outtakes from an album he more or less disowned (see the already mentioned 1995 interview etc). Nah bring on the sleaze!!! 1974-75 all the

Quotegotdablouse So it seems Andrew Watt has AGAIN recorded his favorite band for which he attended more concerts than anyone should know (actually he says it's 40 for PJ), "They’re the greatest live band in the world", etc... He has probably attended the "Rick Rubin school of rock PR". Quote : - I've been a fan of this band all my life! - working with the

Quotegotdablouse That's right the promising "English Rose" could be used for B&B since we know for a fact it was played back at De Doelen in Rotterdam in early 1975. "Man Eating Woman" as well. I don't think there's any solid information as to when/where these songs were first recorded though. I see Nico has them in 1972 indeed and not as "unverified&qu

Imo the late'72 outtake "English Rose" would fit just fine on an expanded B&Blue. Mick if you read this...
