Couldn't resist posting this Craigs List ad for a Stones tribute band, looking for a guitarist: -------------------------- We are seeking a guitar pro. that is willing to dress and play the part of Ron Wood. This is a SUBSTITUTE position. Our current player isn't ALWAYS available. The show must go on! We offer paid gigs in and out of California, so please have a flexible schedule. A p

I get annoyed at MT's noodling sometimes myself. Sometimes in Rambler I wish he would just stop. Especially when they're approaching the big break and Jagger keeps rattling on about 'go down on me baby'. Ronnie adds nothing, so rather than go see the Stones, your friend can save a few hundred bucks and listen to the album over and over and over and over and over. I'

QuoteMCDDTLC Hey - most of us "Taylorites" ARE NOT saying REPLACE Ronnie with Taylor, just "ADD" Taylor to the live lineup for one more tour... If that was pushed in the media, it would diffently attract some older Stones fans to the tour it would for me and I haven't seen the Stones live since 1975... MLC Count me in. I would love to see Ronnie on bass. But, I ha

I realize it's all personal preference but for my ears, what Mick Taylor did on Plundered My Soul was simply brilliant. After all those years away, he gets back in the studio with Jagger and pulls off a very beautiful guitar part. Having listened to his current band play the same setlist night after night, I would never had expected so much. But he can really step it up when he's inspir

Let's talk about this redistribution of wealth, shall we? When the Deepwater Horizon drilling platform set off the worst oil spill at sea in American history, it was flying the flag of the Marshall Islands. Registering there allowed the rig’s owner to significantly reduce its American taxes. The owner, Transocean, moved its corporate headquarters from Houston to the Cayman Islands

Quote71Tele QuoteStonesTod looks like turd gets plenty o' luv, after all.... Yes, and it warms my Exile-loving heart. EXCEPT that no love seems to come from our boys, who have never once played it live. Though I don't think I would want to hear it now with Darryl and Chuck instead of Bill and Stu. Another Turd note: Is it possible that it's Taylor on that great rhythm guitar p

What the Gulf Can’t Afford In late May, with a broken pipe spewing tens of thousands of barrels of oil into the Gulf of Mexico, President Obama imposed a six-month moratorium on new deep-water drilling in the gulf and suspended operations at 33 exploratory deep-water wells. These were common-sense moves — a timeout while a presidential commission figured out why the disaster occurred and recom

QuoteEdith Grove Well, the Obama administration is trying the moratorium thing again, but instead of simply challenging the judge's decision, they are issuing a different moratorium. Hey! Quoteloog droog Yep. My first show was July 9 at the Forum. It was insane...and this could never happen now. I was a 16 year old Stones fanatic with no connections to anybody who could make it happen, but somehow fate smiled on me and I scored a seat in the third row! The way the lotus stage extended, it was like a front row seat. Made eye contact with Mick a couple of times, and Bill t

QuoteEdith Grove Obama's knee-jerk reaction to this disaster (banning new drilling) has just been overridden by a Federal judge in New Orleans. I think it's the smart move. BP lied about their capability to respond to a spill, they lied about following safety standards when they drilled. They saved lots of money, we get the catastrophic results. We have to know what other wells have b

That rhythm electric guitar sounds like MT to my ears. The tone is completely wrong for anything I have heard KR play from those days. I say it's new MT. How could this iTunes version be an accident? Maybe Jagger didn't want to confront Keith for the album release, but he thought/knew this version rocked. Make it a special 1 week only freebie . . . like the flexi-disc in '7
