The real story line to the tour. The Staples CYHMK was a complete refutation to many with questions about MT. MT is in a class with greatest guitarist of all time. They are limiting his play due to either fear of money (being forced to compensate him more) or fear that he will always upstage the other players.
But with Staples Center CYHMK the cat is out of the bag....
The Rolling Stones are best with Taylor on stage. No one can logically argue otherwise.

The distance between wood and Taylor is similar to the distance between Taylor and Hendrix.

Nice to have perspective from an apparent connoisseur.Quote

I am a Hendrix fan for sure, saw him perform twice and own all his releases, but this Berry cover is on par with various bar bands I've heard thru the years, and Taylor's soaring solo's...they soar way above this.

Just want to offer an anecdote to show how MT's music affected a non-musician/non-Taylorite, a gf of mine about 15 years ago...she/we were around 30.
This chick was a naturopath healer, Qigong, acupuncture worker...meditation retreats, the works. She listened to chant and drone music mostly. One day she heard me playing a cassette of Sydney or Brussels, SFM...you know, the whirling Dervish ending that we Taylorites love so much. She commented how that was Dervish and that she liked it.
When we split up, I couldn't find that tape. Turns out that was the only tape she had surreptitiously "borrowed"...
