the "unreleased" stuff isn't that interesting to the average Stones fan....I have mates who I rate as big Stones fans but when I play them Some Girls & Exile sessions (some of the better rarities) they say there was a reason they weren't put on the albums...which is true. I think because some of us are starved of new songs so we put a bit more emphasis in these pretty good

the band has 2 guitar players who are either drunk/stoned or simply cannot function...I think they will Tour and it will be a joke. I wish the band would accept the fact that they are terrible these days...instead of thinking of the $$$

QuoteMathijs Quotedcba I think The Stones wouldn't piss on Cutler if he were on fire. The reason? Altamont... What a bollocks remark. Cutler didn't do anything more than execute all wishes of the Stones. And Cutler did a hell of a job keeping the crowd quiet. Mathijs correct...and not only the Stones but the Dead ! He was also one of the rare individuals who showed some balls w

i would think it worthwhile for the band to release 10/10 quality versions of a live Europe/Aussie 1973 show/dvd or US Tour 1972 lost live album/re-vamped Ladies & gents....don't think it too worthwhile to release unfinished studio stuff. BV - your comments may come back to haunt you once the great man can't be arsed touring and making easy cash off people (teenagers/early 20s) w

further to this....does anyone have "71020 Rolling Stones European Tour 1970"..? I once listened to the album (green coloured) 20 years ago and it is far better than the CDrs of the same show.

yes - the studio version is untouchable but my point was Altamont was it's best representation live....and yes I love the Taylor-72/73 dominated versions also...

As classic the versions of this brilliant Stones song are from Perth, Brussles, London '73 etc...I think the TRUE representation of this song comes from Altamont 1969. This is amazingly haunting and is driven by the great bass from Wyman....the whole band on fire here...Keith has a kind of LCD-driven lead guitar that, even if it's not classical, fits the song brilliantly. Jagger also o

Id say that the Enmore released on VGP -342 entitled "Licks Down Under" is the worst sounding version of all the Enmore Theatre show issued on silver bootlegs. The best sounding silver bootleg of the Enmore 2003 IMHO is the " The Rolling Stones Sydney 2003" on a no name label. But to my ears the best sounding Enmore recording is the 2nd version released on the CD - R labe

Quotestone-relics You cats and chicks ever listen to the EP Brown Sugar/Bitch/Let it Rock? If they sucked in 71, what can you say about 75 to the present.... JR i think he means "sucked" compared to 1969, 1970, 1972 & 1973.... work it out man....

"It just seems out of the Mick Taylor Live years with the band that 1971 stands out as the poorest"... Totally agree. If I were to put in order the best years out of the Mick Taylor Years i would go: 1969 1973 1972 1970 last 1971 I think that's what Esky is getting at.... Afterall, the band is at the top of their powers during this time. But god help him slagging

i have a solution....to those who want to keep their precious recordings to themseleves, give DAC/VGP your recording BUT with some cuts in the tape. That way we all get the performance, but you keep the master in it's complete state! We all win...

Quotestone-relics the 81 tour was arguably the worst ever Stones tour. I cant figure out why everybody gets so excited about it....only 19 December 1981 is worth a whip... JR Agree. Hampton, however, is brilliant....The Tour was huge but it just doesn't grab me at all...Jagger's vocals/outfit, the many saxaphone solos, the huge colourful stage, the ridiculous crane act....
