Leeds is better.

In fact, wasn't the Marquee performance considered too poor for release?

yeah it's possible, it was a no audience show.
and I'll also take Leeds, the recording seems to be better quality and the band plays magic.

Leeds by far. A nice laid-back and tight performance.
Apart from I Got The Blues, the Marquee show is abysmal.

Leeds by a mile quality wise(and performance I have to agree). There were two Marquee shows taped. One with no aud and one with. Some of the rehearsal show wound up spliced into the aud performance I think.

Thats a good show too and pretty decent aud recording I agree!

Leeds by far. Only reason Marquee is with the big rollers, is because of the good video, and good quality sound. But performance, especially Keith who looks in rough shape is not so good.

Marquee is the most classic looking rock-historical at it...

winking smileyThey look great at the Marquee gig.

Perhaps I should dust down my old VHS copy and rexamin before being too critical

Imho the Marquee gig sounds dead cos the audience had been evacuated for some reason I cannot remember winking smiley The best part is the 2 songs played at the rehearsal... while the fans were still in the venue.

oh that high speed editing, 60's-ish editing is terrible. The Marquee is an incredible performance, but made a bit unenjoyable by the editing . . .

My vote, however, is Leeds over Marquee. For me its the recording that we have of the gigs. The Leeds recording is so crisp, great quality far superior to the Marquee audio.

You think so? Did you notice Keith?

Leeds is superior to Marquee - but even Leeds pales compared to London Roundhouse and even more so....: Coventry.

I agree, Coventry rocks. Best (available) performance of the tour IMO.

Did anybody attending both the Leeds and the Roundhouse shows? You know they're still using the Roundhouse for shows? When I was there in 1996 it was all boarded up and decrepit.

Leeds - the version of Bitch is blistering hot!

I think both gigs are pretty lame. They sound tired and drugged out. Coventry is good though.

agreed. After listening to plenty of boots from the 69/70 tour....1971 was very lame in comparison...

well, theres at least two of you that feel that way. It would be nice though to hear a 1970 show recorded at the same quality level as Leeds.

How's it going in Manchester, man? No unfortunately, there's only a distant/poor recording available. There HAS to be some UK 1971 Tour tapes dusting away in English drawers - but none of which has circulated yet....apart from Coventry.....(London Roundhouse was released on vinyl in the 70s)

Leeds is better, but there were some good things at the Marquee. Leeds sound quality was better.
