It's worth taking the effort to get a 5.1 surround sound hook-up and a dvd player with progressive scan. (My Sony 5 disc changer works great.) The Atlantic Records 40th Anniversary concert at the Garden was indeed a most memorable event. Nearly 12 hours of music from some of the most prolific artists in history, all in one day. Wow! Maybe HBO will rerun the concert as it was first broadcast back then. I too sat near Mr. Ertegun at the Garden, it was a thrill to see him there. Gold Rings and confetti on ya, Ahmet.

I saw Leon Russell in concert, in Chicago, a few days after the Bangladesh benefit. He opened with Wild Horses (solo on his Steinway grand) and closed with Jumpin Jack flash. A good recording from that tour would be awesome. (Claudia Linnear was on vocals as well.)
