Thank you so much Riffbuk, for posting this link. The first time I ever heard of, or saw, the Rolling Stones was when this Mike Douglas show first aired in 1964. I was only about 8 or 9 years old at the time and happened to see it by chance. I've never forgotten it. And I've been hooked ever since. Does anyone know the exact date of the original airing, which at the time, I believe, w

My favorite was back in '72. In an instant, whether you're ready or not, the house lights go out. The audience goes berserk. The opening chords of 2OOO Light Years From Home blare from the p.a. as Chip Monck announces, "Ladies and Gentlemen, The Rolling Stones." And all of a sudden, there they are.

I got doused a couple of times. Once in Chicago, in '72, after Midnight Rambler, Mick took a gallon jug of water and poured it over a few us in the front. It was so incredibly hot that night, those few sprinkles of cold water created an extreme sensation. Again in '81, at an arena gig near Chicago, Mick emptied a whole bucket on me. I loved it.

Just jours after the tour was announced I won tickets to the Chicago gig on WXRT radio! What a great way to start my birthday weekend! I first saw the Who when I was a very young teenager in '68, in a very small club in St. Charles, Illinois. Unforgettable. Strangely enough, I recently unearthed a bootleg from that very same show. I couldn't believe it. I hear Roger and Pete still hav

He was even a Beach Boy for a minute and recorded his song Sail On Sailor with them. Great tune. He also put in an excellent guest appearance with the Nicholas Tremulus Orchestra at the Double Door, in Chicago, a couple of years ago. (btw, he asked for, and was given, the original illustration from my After the Bang portfolio last year when the band was in Chicago. Free prints are still avail

Thanks for the great memories posted. It's all starting to come back to me now. I was at the non-shoe, July 23rd show. We got there early in the morning at Anaheim Stadium to find an already full parking lot full of stoned-out Stones fans. I don't remember too many details of that hot sweaty day, so I guess I was there. What does stick in my mind was how good the music sounded al

Thanks for posting those great pix, Rockman. inopeng, what date did you attend the '81 shows? They played a few nights that late November. I might have a few pics from one of the concerts that I aquired on ebay. (Mostly band close-ups.) I wish I could get a decent enlargement of the third pic, but as I was in the upper tier, it's not very sharp. Nonetheless, I could still send you a

inopeng - do you see yourself anywhere in the photos? I wish I had pix from Chicago '81. Mick wore my scarf during YCAGWYW, on the first night, and then ran it between his legs the next night during Start Me Up.
