Review Brussels Official Release Pacific Coast Branch As the second chorus of Honky Tonk Women finishes, and Keith's seminal solo begins, Mick Taylor gets caught noodling. And what does he do, having to suddenly abort another superfluous, note-filled run? Does he shit-kick the hell out of some honky-tonk rhythm while Keith (finally) gets a chance to lay down a solo? No. Mick Taylor de

Man...some of you people are self entitled, whiny ass, b*tches, aren't you? ("I'm a fan and I post on IORR. Here's what I want. Also, here's what I don't want. Yeah...you heard me. I'm not interested in what you've been doing for the past 20 years -when you played to exponentially more fans than you had in the previous 30-. Seriously...but you had better

"it's long been known that mick didn't want the band to compete with its (arguably superior) history as a live band...that was the reigning theory as to why the live vaults remained under wraps..." Has it actually "been known", or is this just more IORR conjecture masquerading as fact? If so, where are the actual quotes from Mick?

Yeah! I'm a fan! I buy things! I demand certain songs be on the reissues! I am perpetually unsatisfied! I whined that the vaults should be open for decades; now that they're being opened, I'm whining about song selections and overdubs! Nothing is ever good enough for me, which is odd because I'm a whining sack of sh*t!

You're an idiot for pretending to "know" something that is strictly based on your opinion. Of course YOU "know" Don Was is a **********! Because that is what you think of him! The fact that you would call someone an idiot because they don't reside with you in your delusional world goes a long way toward showing what a pathetic loser you, yourself, are. Get a life.

No disagreement here, but I also don't think he was the best guitarist the Stones ever had, and I don't thing the '69-'73 live period was their best, either. Also, also, the albums he had a significant role in, SF, EOMS, GHS, and IORR, are proof of the fact that he had very little to do with the quality of the studio output of the band. When Mick and Keith were absolutely ON (

Amazing how many people at IORR have whined for years about the vaults not being open, and now that they are, they're still whining. Whiners.

Dear vermontoffender: While walking the dog this morning, I realized I was humming Keith's SFTD solo from Ya Yas. So, after the walk, I dusted off Ya Yas and listened to it. Here's the thing, the MT problem has crept it's way into '69 for me. Keith's solo in Sympathy is so spot on; perfect notes, perfect sound, just enormous and incredible. And then, Taylor co

"lift the rockers higher". Hilarious. MT quit in '74. By '78 the band had released another amazing album and moved on to a different sound. MT was obsolete. Where would he have fit in on songs like Shattered, Miss You, Respectable, Imagination, Beast of Burden? At some point, you Taylor lovers are going to have to realize that you've got the equation reversed. Th

Jeeeeeeesus! I am so sick of this Taylor worship. He was/is a wonderfully talented guitar player, but take a look at the man's career since he left the Stones! I mean...he basically squandered the best springboard imaginable to a successful solo career. That HAS to be part of the conversation. You can't just bring up the five years he spent playing with the best band on the planet, beca

They never did. I think the "Vegas Act" moniker is ill suited. There was a change in their overall approach to live performances which began in 1989. Since then, I'm convinced they became a better band with each subsequent tour. (Other than '06/'07 post-Keith's accident) I have seen many bands/shows in Vegas; the Stones have yet to remind me of any of them in the

IORR is filled with whiners and insecure, yet strangely entitled, morons who need a support system of like minded dolts to give value to their meaningless opinions. I hope Jagger closes the vaults and starts a new band with Dave Stewart every year.

So, if that quote is correct, Keith has admitted to needing practice to get his chops "back". What is your opinion adding to the conversation? Didn't Keith just say that? Also, the video with Depp is hardly proof that Keith is either playing well or poorly. The band itself is absolutely pedestrian and Depp clearly isn't on the same page with Keith and the other guitarist on

Turns out opening the vaults isn't enough for the whiners on this board; the many, many, many, whiners. Hopefully the title of the third track sums up Jagger's attitude towards his "fans".

Oh sure, big bands like the Stones have never had difficulty selling seats in Cleveland. (Sarcasm) Comparing Cleveland to Chicago is like comparing a....um.....piece of crap city to a great city. Yep. That''ll do. Cleveland vs. Detroit? Maybe. But, Cleveland vs Chicago? That's a friggin' joke.

It's hilarious how when one of the longtime IORR members speculates about something it somehow morphs itself into fact. Just for the record, no one has any clue whatsoever whether or not Don Was "gets" the Stones. Also, no one has any clue whatsoever what occurred in the mixing process; whether or not Don Was wanted Jagger's vocals high in the mix is complete conjecture. Bu

Thankfully, you have hundreds of recordings to listen to with Mick and his Spare Parts. I imagine some of them are even songles, but I'm not sure. Regardless of whether or not you like SuperHeavy, they are a blip on the radar, comparatively speaking, to what Mick has done with the Stones since 1965. (I think they all sucked in 1964....KIDDING!!)

"the missing Bill Wyman factor". That makes me laugh, and also feel kinda sad for you, so I stop laughing. Still...must be tough looking for things to be missing in Stones tracks since '91. And, you can spin it any way you want, but that's what you are doing. You've decided Bill is sorely missed to your concept of the Rolling Stones, so you hear his absence in everything.

I hope he's happy. He's certainly happier than the vast majority of IORR whiners. (No, really...we'd all like to hear some more negativity and bile concerning a band you are supposedly a fan of. Instead of jumping on every post with your b.s., why not try a new hobby? Why not create something....positive? No? Not your thing? You'd rather post mean spirited, meaningless opinion

Hmmm...I always thought "Rock and Roll" was a pretty inclusive term. Not sure why you would choose to exclude certain musical genres from it's definition....Oh, wait...looking more closely at your choices, I think I get it now. You are one of those guys who likes Rock and Roll but doesn't like predominantly black musical genres. Seems kinda idiotic and incredibly shortsighted.

Stonesrule: How is your original post not based on your opinion of what Keith is thinking, or how he is acting? I mean, just because my opinion makes a lot more sense than yours doesn't mean you have to get all snippy. A simple "Thank You" would have sufficed.
