My dog wouldn't take a dump during his walk this morning. I walked him to all of his favorite "areas" and still, nothing. Finally, I had to go back home so I could get the kids to school on time. As we were walking out the door, I turned to the dog and said, "Please...just...don't. Please." I drove...um....aggressively....on my way back from the school. I parked t

Up and Down With The Rolling Stones Studio Work Since 1968 with vermontoffender: Beggars through Exile- Yes, amazing. Incredible. Certainly an astonishingly consistent achievement especially given the fact that the band's personnel changed about halfway through the run. Goat's Head Soup- Nope. Never liked it. Never gets played in my house. If one of my kids wants to hear 100 Years

Whenever Ringo was playing drums, it was literally impossible for the Beatles to be a better blues band than the Stones.

"Take the money and run"? Huh? I mean, it's fine to dislike an entire tour, but you should refine your reasoning to actually correspond to the truth. Take a look at the average set list and length of shows in '81 and compare it to other tours. The Stones were putting on lengthy shows in '81. If you don't dig the sound, that's your deal but get your facts stra

Wow. Um...no. Your incredibly simplistic worldview doesn't pertain to everyone else. Thankfully. Nonetheless, an in-depth critique of Hampton '81 by someone with your impressive knowledge of the band would be greatly appreciated. Merely bashing the existence of the release itself, however, is not.

"and then the big, bad, band didn't release the exact show that I wanted and (sniffle) it made me mad so I stomped my feet (sniffle) and yelled and screamed but I still didn't get my way so I tried to make it seem like everyone else was as upset as me, even though that's a blatant lie, but I don't care because I DIDN'T GET WHAT I WANTED and that is all that matters.

I did not groan upon hearing Hampton '81 was about to be officially released. Neither did any of my friends who happen to be Stones fans. But that's probably because none of us are self entitled whiners. Waiting on a Friend and Let it Bleed are sooooooooooooo good on this thing. And the version of Imagination is epic.

I understand that people are entitled to whine and bitch as they please, but man, it's just sad to read. The "official" Hampton sounds amazing. Thank you boys.

twitter is great. glad the band is using social media to help generate interest in the vaults. i, for one, am enjoying the suspense. but, maybe that's because i'm not under the misguided impression that the rolling stones owe me something.

1) When you go outside in the snow, are mittens pinned to the outside of your jacket? 2) Do you find that people often end conversations with you by patting you on the head? 3) Are you fascinated by shiny objects?

Jagger was playing to the room and, judging from the response from the people in that room, he was electrifying. Whether or not somebody watching at home dug it hardly matters; the important people loved him.

When you insist on saying "Merry Christmas" you are automatically excluding a whole bunch of people. Saying "Happy Holidays" instead isn't "P.C.", which is an idiotic concept to begin with, it's just more inclusive. Not to mention the fact that it's not Christmas for over a week, so saying "Merry Christmas" on the 17th is meaningless. If I sa

First of all, let me apologize for being such a prick on this board sometimes. Secondly, the incredible escalation of vitriol on this thread is both hilarious and impressive. Thirdly, thank you and Happy Holidays.

Unlike, say, the Baseball HOF, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is hardly a sought after measure of greatness. The Rock and Roll HOF itself is nothing more than a nifty tourist attraction and the balloting process seems to exist solely for the induction ceremony, rather than the other way around. That said, I think the best parts of the R&R HOF are the variety of musical sub-genres represented

Also, Some Girls was already released in remastered form. The only reason to buy this version is for the unreleased tracks. I think if the Stones had released a remastered Exile in 2010, without any bonus tracks, and then released it again in 2012, but with an extra disc of previously unreleased material, the sales would have been much, much different. I know that was already mentioned, but I

Yeah...but the Stones aren't competing with Bieber, are they? Also, if Exile would have been released in late November, 2010, would it have made #1? The answer is no.

Some Girls Live In Texas crushes Brussels. Mick Taylor ruins Brussels by playing on an island, unto himself. Ronnie is working his ass off in '78 and playing as an integral PART of the greatest band ever. Also, playing a long stretch of great, fresh new songs from Some Girls may not have been an incredibly popular move in 1978, but the show holds up astonishingly well because of the en

1) The process used to track music sales is as archaic as the one used to track TV viewership; the numbers are meaningless. Bands and record companies are aware of this. They will be taking an aggregate of CD sales, legal downloads and illegal downloads to discern interest in a product. 2) What have the actual sales numbers been? Chart position is highly subjective. In 2006 Barry Manilow charted
