Those "shadows" you speak of only exist in your mind. "Legacies" aren't competitions. The Stones and the Beatles are both great; I prefer the Stones by a wide, wide, margin, but I recognize that preference as an opinion. I don't feel that the Stones "crush" the Beatles or that the Stones legacy casts a longer shadow because, well...those types of things are

That is the funniest topic I've read here in a long, long, long, time. 1) "The Beatles Family"? Dear Lord, I may have just wet myself. 2) "I have invested a lot of time and energy...". So, you're disappointed because the Stones aren't listening to the myriad of posts you've made over the years? I was unaware that was an expected benefit of posting at

Yes. Clearly the "little ass bitches" are the problem. Not Ronnie's inability to stay away from them. Nope, not Ronnie's fault at all. Clearly, he is the victim. There certainly isn't any way for Ronnie to stay out of danger with all of "these little ass bitches" throwing themselves at him. I was under the impression that part of staying sober was taking control

Doxa has deemed Ron Wood an improper songwriter of sorts. Doxa must know all about great songwriting; his opinion is clearly informed- after all, he's Doxa!

If this was the only clip of post-2007 Keith being a bit ragged, most people would cut him some slack. Sadly, that's hardly the case.

'75 rocks. Good to have a document more indicative of those years than LYL. Fascinating to hear the evolution of Ronnie and Keith's playing from '75 to '78. At least to me....

Paint It, Black, Twickenham. Charlie is KILLING it. Keith playing that electric riff in No Expectations at the Olympia while Mick tries to get him to stop. But the riff ends up sounding great. There are many, many, more, including the ones already mentioned by others.

Facebook has about 845 million users over a given month. To say, "not everyone is on Facebook" really misses the point.

I just love it when people use terms like "case closed" after making the most unconvincing argument imaginable. The comments by Mathijs are far more convincing and, you know, based in reality. This '75 show kicks serious booty.

My point was, and still is, that if you're looking for info concerning the recently announced release date of a new, "official" Stones product, it's really easy to find here. And, it doesn't take any time whatsoever. Maybe because the thread isn't entitled, "New Stones Archive Release Date Announced", it tripped you up. Who knows? I'm hardly a regul

Far be it from me to defend IORR, but it's pretty funny when someone deems it to not be a "real" Stones message board because the info they were looking for was posted 2 days earlier. That's just laughably ignorant. Maybe if HighwireC, you know, checked the board every day, he would be up to date with his info.

Do the people dismissing the possibility of "mini strokes" actually know what a "mini stroke" looks like? I have more than a little experience with this stuff, a close family member underwent brain surgery not too long ago. Since then he's been on a fairly strong drug that keeps him from having seizures. When they take him off of the drug, he inevitably has a seizur

When Rolling Stone mentions Keith's health as being an issue, no matter who the source is, it's an issue. I'm not saying that Rolling Stone mag is some great conveyor of cutting edge truths, quite the opposite; RS has been in the bag for the Stones for decades. Try and remember a time RS didn't have something overwhelmingly positive to say about the Stones. I can't. If th

To the people trying to equivocate Jagger being out of breath with these clips of Keith: Jagger was not out of breath during the ABB tour. Not in 2005 and not in 2007. Jagger's live performing skills haven't been in question for the past half decade. The reason I question Keith's ability to play, and that I also feel free to opine that nothing in this recent batch of footage

Jagger remains an amazing, mesmerizing, performer. Keith has got his work cut out for him. Comparing Micks recent live performances to Keith's makes me wonder why, other than money, Mick would want to play with Keith anymore. The only type of Stone Keith is these days is a millstone around Mick's neck. Oh, how I would love to be proven wrong.

That's awesome. My kid just finished reading a piece in the New Yorker on the Supreme Court Justice, Clarence Thomas, for a class project. I've clearly lost my mind. Although, if the Grammys ever did an "In Memoriam" to Supreme Court Justices, I'm sure they would have a medley of Supremes hits playing beneath it.

Whitney Houston sold over 170 million albums, and she died the day before the Grammys. I fail to see the how anyone could be surprised that a tribute to Clarence Clemons was bumped in order to celebrate the extremely recent death of a woman who was an iconic figure in pop music. Did I mention she sold over 170 million albums?

I had never thought of myself as a "nay sayer", per se, when it comes to Keith's playing, seeing as I think he was still kicking ass in '05/06 as only Keith could. That said, I suppose, for the sake of this specific discussion, I am a nay sayer so to speak. If he returns to "pre-op" levels of dexterity, I will be beyond thrilled. But, I have heard absolutely no

But, given the evidence of the past 5 years, it doesn't mean he can be the driving force. And, sadly, I think that's the default position now, that Keith needs to prove himself again. Maybe he can....but I think it involves him laying off of the solos and leads.

For me the question is more, 'Why doesn't Keith stick to rhythm"? Clearly, his soloing has deteriorated to the point of distraction. The fact that he continues to play the same solos over and over is really worrisome. I'm happy with Keith's playing up until his head injury. And it makes sense that it would take some trial and error to adjust, so I get the last leg of t

I hear Keith's run at the end of "Friend" more clearly on the official release. I can also hear more of what he was playing before the run. This is not an isolated incident. I can hear everything more clearly throughout the entire show. Now, it is true that I had my ears cleaned out, for the first time in 20 years, the day before the official Hampton release. I'm sure that
