Quotehopkins I turned 11 that day in '62 in NYC...and within 10 hours of that (adjusted for time difference in UK) the Rollin' Stones stepped on the stage at The Marquee. Before I was 11 1/2 Charlie & Bill would be onboard. Two years later at 12 turning 13 I'd hear them on the radio and see 'em on TV. Clay Cole, Dean Martin etc...they did a ton of TV first trip over; Oldha

Quoterunaway I was thrilled by Tell Me and Walking The Dog from the album "The Rolling Stones" listening at a friends place and "It's All Over Now" blasting out of a jukebox in 1964, it's either one of those, some time ago. I remember being fascinated trying to figure out who sang on what songs in the early days, Brian on "Walking The Dog" is always fun

If I can make one show this will be it! Would love to visit Munich.. I'm guessing it's similar to the USA situation for those without tickets? Just show up?

I can log in again! Finally, after months of trying to figure out my log-in snafu (I must admit I thought I was being blacklisted cuz I said I love 'Short & Curlies'). Thought I'd announce my success with a thank you to those who have responded to this thread in my absence, and of course to thank BV for his solid work

Quotehopkins I really like what they were doing live in 66. I've listened to Hawaii several times and get a great kick out it. I like Got Live If You Want It too, also from '66. I know the Stones disowned it but I enjoy it to this day very much.

Players you all mentioned + Sonny Rollins on "Neighbors" A song I overlooked for years simply because I loved everything on the album, as time has gone by that song really got down deep in me

Love the track and the way it helps offset the entire album... Never heard this Mick vocal version before. Looked it up cuz read that Brian's playing was more pronounced in the mix. I found this version to be further proof how great the song is, even tho prefer the official released cut I still love it with someone else's vocal. Mick vocal

QuoteJah Paul Just a guess, but since it was a radio broadcast, perhaps they broke for commercials during those two songs. I like that guess. At bottom of setlist it mentions that only tracks 1-3,5,7-10 are in circulation. So whomever put this together must have some info. Personally it's my dream setlist as those are most of the songs that first hooked me (along with Time On My Side)

QuoteCristiano Radtke QuoteTheGreek Quote24FPS I have a copy but it's all from some crappy AM radio mono broadcast, right? I would love to have something of quality from that time, but this never drew me back to listen to it again. Maybe today. Listen it to and you will marvel at how tight the Brian Jones era Stones were , we all know these songs in our slee

Thank you both Hockenheim and Erik ! I knew I'd come to right place on this forum... Your friend in Norway stumbled upon quite the gift ... I'm guessing CODA release will include Under My Thumb and Play With Fire (didn't see those on the bootleg)

My Google-foo is not so strong, having trouble finding a live recording of "Under My Thumb" and "Play With Fire" from the 1966 Hawaii show ... Any of you pros know what the definitive recording to have is from the '66 Hawaii show? Bonus question: Anyone here actually attend that show? Would love to hear whatever sliver of an actual memory you may have from that show, t

My gut tells me the band has finally caught wind of my multiple posts, emails, tweets, chats, instagrams, and letters requesting they play Alaska, and will be playing Alaska on this tour... Or that could be last night's pepperoni pizza... Something's going on in my gut.

All right, guess I'm on board for this tour as well. Considering Zip Code was similar to a mortgage for me (but a hell of a great time) this time it'll have to be lucky dips or back row... Will be nice to sit back and just listen to the music

Tho there are many enjoyable live versions of their songs, Midnight Rambler is the only tune I "always" prefer to listen to live ...I pretty much never get through the entire studio version, except maybe when I first bought the album.

I'm a solid nothing-sounds-better-than-vinyl guy, but wondered if anyone has checked ol' Neil's Pono device? Neil and his friends say it's the cows teets, while this article says "not so fast"

QuoteRosto My copy, number 1292 was ordered and delivered in december 2014. It's not signed b.t.w. Are you sure it's not signed? Look in the center of the book, the two white transulect pages, that's where the signature should be (this is also mentioned in the description somewhere). Mine's an actual signature, whether's it's by Bill's hand or not I have no w

Quotegotdablouse Very nice, so you only paid £50 for the book ?! What a deal, is it numbered? If not it might be a reprint but didn't they advertize it as being a limited edition of 1962 copies ? Doesn't appear to be a reprint...Mine is numbered in the 1400s (out of 1962) and has what appears to be Bill's genuine signature. I paid the initial 50 plus shipping to the U.S. (abou

I've always had pretty cheap turntables, but still think my records sound better than cd versions... My current one switches for 78 (only have 2 albums I need it for), and i have plenty of yellow discs for the 45s... Couple things unique to records/turntables I personally enjoy: You "know" the album by sides, and are really dialed in to the last song of side 1, and first song

Update: The Bill Wyman book arrived via UPS from England today and it is beautiful! Some worries it would ever happen, but the company (Concert Live) came thru in the end with a very nice product...Included both a vinyl and CD of two of his singles. About 1/3 thru it, good stuff, not the usual "Up & Down w/ the Rolling Stones" that I read in my teens.

Quotejohn r Yes but it sounds like Mel C on sax. And it reminds me of Ornette Coleman's Dancing In Your Head. First official Jagger/Richards/Wood credit (as opposed to 'inspiration by') too - the track smokes... First official Ron Wood credit? Cool. Love this tune
