I really like what they were doing live in 66. I've listened to Hawaii several times and get a great kick out it.
I like Got Live If You Want It too, also from '66.
I know the Stones disowned it but I enjoy it to this day very much.

Love the Tina Delgado sign. You have to know LA-KHJ radio to know what that means.

This is Brian's very last live U.S. appearance as a Rolling Stone I'm pretty sure.

Have you seen this CD box set in person or know someone who has it? It's not that I doubt its authenticity, well yes I kinda do ... Other than amazonuk site I can only find two vinyl editions (a silver and bronze) but no CD box sets for that release online. Also having difficulty finding a site/ address for coda... As mentioned in original post: My Google-foo is not strong!

Thx for your post and appreciate the help. (added edit: Is it possibly going to be re-release of Necropolis box set with new cover art?)

No, that was the Melbourne '66 concert.

I listened to my copy of the Hawaii concert, and yes it is rough, but good, and it does only have 8 cuts. You can hardly hear Bill at all, at least in my car. Although we may never get a DVD of this era, does anyone out there know if there's a better example quality wise of a 1966 concert?

Once they got those great Fender amps; shopped for some Gibsons...I guess this was the first time you see them looking like what we consider a modern rock band.
Some of the old shots, you still wonder "How on earth did anyone hear them?"

Then in '69, as Jagger says, the big change was to hang the PA. IMO it's not so much the actual 'hanging', but the principal of the idea that made the big difference.

I can log in again!

Finally, after months of trying to figure out my log-in snafu (I must admit I thought I was being blacklisted cuz I said I love 'Short & Curlies').

Thought I'd announce my success with a thank you to those who have responded to this thread in my absence, and of course to thank BV for his solid work smiling smiley
