I can only think of two: Rambler and Tumbling Dice.

My list is: Songs which, live, are always beating the original version in my ears

Midnight Rambler
She's So Cold
Out Of Control
Saint Of Me
Streets Of Love (I mean it!)
Under My Thumb (I know my opinion is not popular, but studio version sounds pretty nerveless to me)
Love In Vain
Ruby Tuesday

And maybe some others too...

If we can include Keith and the Winos, here's my list of 5 Live that I prefer compared to the studio versions.

Connection (Winos at Palladium)
Too Rude (Winos at Palladium)
Beast of Burden (1978 Will Rogers Memorial Center-Texas)
Sweet Black Angel (1972 Tarant County Center 1st show)
Under my Thumb (1969 Altamont)For the Mick speech interlude alone..."everybody just keep cool and relax!"

The Rolling Stones

Little Red Rooster (Live from Love you Live, 1977)

Really? IMO the studio version (like Around and around) can't be topped, although it's great to listen to a good live version. Bill's bass is incredible, and on stage you never can perform These 'howling' like they did in the studio.

In 1976, Fool to cry sounded more 'open' on stage so it could have surpassed the original studio version.

Love in vain (Ya-Ya's)
Let me go (Hampton 81)
When the Whip comes down (dito)
Out of control (No Security)
If you can't rock me (Live Licks)

Just as long as the guitar plays, let it steal your heart away

Yeah, Out Of Control is always better live.

Come On, why is JJF from Altamont better than the original? winking smiley

I reckon the only song that is "better" live overall is Midnight Rambler only...
Sure there's some classic single performances of some songs but to answer the original posters question then MR is the only one i can think of.

Fingerprint File from Toronto is also better than the studio version, imo.

stones studio songs generally sound better than its live counterpart, with some exception.

those better live are

midnight rambler GYYYO and other live records.

shattered at hampton 1981.

some girls. shine a light 2008.

paint it black. ready steady go, 1966, although not sure if thats fully live.

off the hook, im alright, its all over now, the TAMI show.

cant think of any more at present.

You gotta move

Honky Tonk women in 1975 and 1976.

Rambler is GREAT on Let it bleed, totally underrated. But, they did a fantastic version live in 1972-1973.

What a shame live: Brian is fantastic.

shattered at Hampton is a very good pick.

Stray Cat at Knebworth.

Tumblin Dice is very good on exile but of course there are great live versions in 1972 and 1973 as well as in 1975 thanks to Ollie Brown and Mick.

Hearing 'Hang Fire' live off the Vault '82 Leeds CD revived/renewed the song for me.
Tho I always love a 'doo doo doo doo' trill outta Jagger,
live version has more guts and rock-roll.
As for official 5 selections w/ dates,
lucky me needs more time living in the live tunes to determine/ commit.
Spent most of the years in studio releases.

Yeah I know but I like it there, that version. I still prefer the bad-ass version of 1975 and 1976 with the ultimate bad ass of the 70s: Keith, sounding like a colossal rolling stone. Very underrated imo.

Let Me Go.

I prefer the faster live approach rather than the slower studio version.

Tho there are many enjoyable live versions of their songs, Midnight Rambler is the only tune I "always" prefer to listen to live ...I pretty much never get through the entire studio version, except maybe when I first bought the album.

Apart from the overplaying it is indeed a superb version. Lots of drive and energy.
