Military draft was the law at the time.
Nugent should have served, unless he had a legitimate reason not to.

Can you tell us who was the last U.S. President that served in active duty military?

How many U.S. Presidents did not serve, in time of draft?
Can anyone tell us .....what was their legitimate reason not to?

The guy before our current President served in the Air National Guard.

For the rest, a bit of internet research might give the answer. grinning smiley

The answer is ...
They ALL avoided that Vietnam police action.... one way or another, regardless of the law at the time.

Do they draft for a police action?

Intensities in 10 Cities is the greatest live album of all time!

at least a great name for an album.

Ya know....
Just reading how many people (here on a rock and roll music board) are sooooo deeply offended by Nugent... and how many people are bleeding hatred for him.... and how much he is pissing off the current establishment... and how many people are trying to simply dismiss him.... and how many want to burn his records... and wowza so many peole who hate him.... yet they are taking time to post about him....

what does that remind you of?
It reminds me of the fact, that we have our integrity, spine and balls, morality.
and so - If I'm precise in my estimation, - I think Ted Nugent is a small-minded , mean-spirited, condescending arrogant fundamentalist @#$%&, spewing out unfounded asssumptions and abuse.

But I'm thankful of the heartwarming fact, that there´s lot of intelligent people on this forum, who have no time for Ted's garbage.

You're right about one thing - maybe we shouldnt waste our precious time on inane ramblings of morons like him at all. There is no basis for or point to debate him...but I guess we have a healthy interest of free speech, - So it´s fair to call Ted for all that he is: Stupid Extremist Pig..and know that it wont change a thing.

If Ted Nugent fans spent more time debating Nugents ideology and less time failing at throwing offenses at us, the debate wouldn't be so awkwardly onesided. but - To each his own.

Surely "Kick Out The Jams" by THE MC5 would rank above the Nugents crappy live recordings.

Full Bluntal Nugity is the greatest live album of all time!

To each his own, but surely Get Yer Ya Ya's Out, Live at Leeds, and The Allman Bro's Live at the Fillmore would rank above the Nuge.

I think Nuge has a shot for better titles though. At least funnier titles.

For the love of all that is sweet and good, 'secret' is spelled like this, 'secret'.

NOT secert.

I just dont understand why you hate Ronnie Wood so much, he seems like a great guy.

Max, I sometimes enjoy your posts, I really do. Often though I see you go after people, ranting on them really, and then ask them why they are angry.

I've been on the receiving end of that.

You could be a little nicer. It's not everyone's responsibility to agree with you, nor your responsibility to browbeat people who aren't in agreement with you.

Not wanting to start a 'flame war', just wanting to alert you to the fact that you sometimes come across as extremely acerbic. Everyone is going to disagree from time to time, that doesn't mean we need to 'go to war' with them.

I agree with you on both points. I don't happen to like how the Nuge sounds when he rocks, but that doesn't in fact mean he doesn't rock!

Funny. Most have simply quoted what the Nuge" himself has said and waht has been reported about him, so there is nothing "unfounded" at all. And reporting a fact or stating an opinion is in no way "abusive" or "condescending". You just don't like that your precious "Nuge" was called out on the hate, bile and intolerance that has been his stock in trade for some time.

saw Uncle Ted Nugent about 5 or 6 years ago. He was good, but also loud. And his suprise act was Richie Sambora (of Bon Jovi). They did a blues instrumental together on stage.

Nugent probably admitted something, or else he would have been arrested by Secret Service...
