i guess i'm just not that easily impressed with his setlists - aside from Billy and maybe Dignity...nothing really surprising in the first week....doesn't mean there's anything wrong with the shows themselves...bob and band seem to be in fine form...

I think thats something like 63 different songs so far, over 8 shows.

sure - but that's pretty much standard operating procedure for him, dating back to the beginning of NET...what's a little disappointing is that there's been little injection of anything new to the set, from the back catalogue. how about "ballad in plain d?" or "from a buick 6?" something, anything to make me shut up and stop my whining....

Yeah same here. RE playing 50 diff. songs over 3 gigs Bob's been doing this for years (but it may appear "unglaublich" to hardcore Stones fans)

the first one I don't like. "From a Buick 6," ok, I'd like to hear that. But you're bound to be disappointed if you expect him to keep expanding the rotation infinitely. He plays a very deep selection, especially of 60s numbers, which makes sense. But how often even during the NET has he ever played rarities for rarities' sake? I get the impression he plays the songs that today he thinks are good or have some special relevance.

Ballad in Plain D would be enough even for me to head for the bar. The one song he genuinely regrets writing.

indeed - and therein lies the problem with over-saturation and a NET that's over 20 years old now....

maybe if he'd do the ballad in a different key?

It was like a tuning session. It turned out His Bobness had started the show early! And that what we heard was, if I remember correctly, "All Along the Watchtower". Totally impossible to recognise. If the Stones had done the same thing, they'd have been slagged by their own fans, "They don't even remember how to play their own songs anymore" (we've read exactly that here on the board). When His Bobness does it, its' like a "mark of genious and an art in itself".

last i recall hearing Can't Wait, it sounded more like the TTS version than the TOOM version....

i think it was at a san francisco show several years ago, about halfway through the setlist, someone shouted out in between songs: "PLAY SOMETHING SOMEONE KNOWS!"

...always loved that....

And many good-quality videos related to these ones.
It's a pleasure to see Bob in such a good shape physically and musically.

Funny I always thought Bob's US gigs were somewhat flat lifeless and by-the-number when compared to Euro shows where he sometimes sings MAJESTICALLY.

Erfurt (2009 04 02) is torrented. It's a Bach recording (= blue ribbon taper) but judging from the quality of this one, he was not front row. Too abd cos the show has its moments.
