To be quite honest - and without taking anything away from any of these people - I could care less about Mick Taylor, Ron Wood, Brian Jones, Bill Wyman, or Darryl Jones. I love the Stones because of Mick and Keith - and I hardly give a damn about who they choose play with or credit for songs.

I bought it, but hardly ever listen to any of it except for Old Habits Die Hard and the live studio version of Blind Leading the Blind. I am not regretting I bought it, but I would suggest downloading the two songs from iTunes as a more economically sound choice (if they're available, that is).

I am also grateful for the work that bv does to maintain the site, but I don't much care for his standards for what is acceptable or not. Here's a thought: Would we be even talking about the Rolling Stones in 2007 if they adhered to bv's rather prudish standards of decency and political correctness? I am not saying that anything goes or that he doesn't have the right to

There are very few things I find more amusing than people with a wildly distorted self-image, who are going the way of the overinflated balloon.

Oh, by the way: I don't really think it would have worked better as a Stones song.

I agree that the lyrics are brilliant on this one. You don't get all that many references to speeches given by US generals to joint sessions of Congress in 1951 anymore ("old soldiers never die; they just fade away" - Gen. Douglas MacArthur). Another example of Mick's surprising erudition.

I think this dead horse has been beaten enough over the past year. Seriously, it's a freaking horse! I am not in the habit of shedding tears over animals whose rightful place is my local butcher's shop. They do taste great though. Try the horse salami if you get a chance. Raw, thinly shaved horse meat over a rucola salad is also pretty hard to beat. Too bad I can't have my

From Time Magazine: "The Best Stones Film You've Never Seen" By Grant Rosenberg/Paris Friday, January 26 It's been available for years in poor-quality, black & white bootleg copies at a few hundred indie video stores around the world, but there is only one way to see it legally. In 1972, Swiss-born photographer and filmmaker Robert Frank made a documentary about the f

Fiona Apple, whom I would then like to see on stage to sing "How Can I Stop," "Slipping Away," or "The Nearness of You" w/ Keith. Not that it would ever happen.

Long been saying that the Rolling Stones are not just a rock band, but a philoshophy of life (I tend to give that speech a lot when sitting in one of the local go-go bars, heavily intoxicated and in the company of friends). I am not in the habit of "emulating" anyone's personal style, but I would say that my sexual appetite (okay, maybe not the productivity) definitely takes aft

That would be too bad. Just when I was having such a ball. I wouldn't put much stock in what the Maya said. I guess the whole thing about getting wiped off the face of the earth kind of tarnished their credibility in my eyes. Oh, and screw the geeks of the doomsday clock. They don't get laid too often, you know...
