It's one of the main reasons why I like this band. Got into a bit of a pissing match with some guy on this board last week who claimed Rough Justice was just as good...

No, but a very close second to Jumping Jack Flash. Too bad Keith seems to have forgotten how to play it and Mick how to sing it. It was absolutely the highlight of every show I saw in 1998, but the versions I heard during this last tour made me wish they would retire it (or rehearse it better, as the case may be).

I am somewhat surprised to read positive reviews of the song. I always thought of it as one of the very worst in the Stones catalog. Oh well, I guess de gustibus non est disputandum.

Considering we have had virtually nothing of any substance to discuss lately - given the silence from the band - I would say so.

To say that these songs are classics is an insult to the greatness of their catalog. Plus, have you ever heard them live? Rough Justice and Oh No sound terrible in concert (at least the 15 live versions I have listened to). Back of My Hand is fine, but far from a classic.

To answer the qs., I looked up the "25 most played" songs in my iTunes library. I was more than a little surprised with the results myself: 1. All Down the Line (Brussels '73) 2. Rip this Joint (Brussels '73) 3. Slipping Away (Stripped) 4. Thief in the Night (No Security) 5. The Nearness of You (Live Licks) 6. Jumping Jack Flash (Brussels '73) 7. Let It Rock (Ft.

Vastly overrated. The importance of their contribution is beyond doubt ("kicking down the door," as Keith puts it), but their music is the most overhyped load of crap since the beginning of time. Oh, for those of you in the habit of rebutting comments you do not agree with by saying "well, that is only your opinion," I would say you are quite right. Please assume that ever

Under the Radar, Laugh, and maybe Back of My Hand and Let Me Down Slow. The others are entirely forgettable. I would rather they bring back some tunes from B2B (Saint of Me, Out of Control), VL (Love Is Strong), Steel Wheels (Almost Hear You Sigh), and why not even Dirty Work (One Hit, Fight).

I think he sings beautifully when he's not completely wasted. There is some stuff that is clearly out of his range, but on the slow ballads (Slipping Away, The Worst, This Place Is Empty, How Can I Stop, etc.) there is nobody I have heard who is quite as soulful and expressive.
