Killer song. I always fade it about 50% to the right, then drop it into my amp mono.

One of the best Berry-number The Chuckster never wrote...

Or one of the best that they're written 237 times even.

Hmm, I don't think so. It's got the "yellow/jello" line, remember?

I dig the song--not crazy about the mix. Drums and vocals are too loud. Would like lyrics to be less enunciated. But like a few other tracks on ABB these are some of the best rockers they have recorded since Tattoo or Some Girls (not as good as those just best since...)

When they played it at their press conferance, I was like "Oh no, not another hack song again".

should have been the name of the tour. It would have gained a lot more attention than ABB or Onstage.

I love the drums-intro, at least as good as 1994/5-You Got Me Rocking-intro.
The text, especially the title is funny, really funny..."OH NO NOT YOU AGAIN"

Great song, hampered by the muddy mix of ABB.

Drums and vocals are too loud on quite a number of songs on ABB. Mick almost screams on these, but it's not his voice that cracks, it's the overdone mastering job.

And yes, it's their most "hard rock" styled album in quite a while.

But "Oh No Not You Again" is not among my favourites from the album.

a pale knockoff of "Lonely at the top"

I sure hope you mean the Stones' outtake version....

ANyoneelse remember the live debut at the press confereance? Terrible. It was sung, it was notelessly grunted out while the guitars were just a mess.

No offence, but we must be listening to different songs, Mike. Some of the lyrics are absolutely horrendous - some of the worst Jagger has ever penned, ("The moon is yellow/I'm like jello/staring down your tits"? Thats like something a ten year old would come out with. Embarrassing, juvenile tripe.)

Musically, its very good and pretty enjoyable - especially the last 30 seconds or minute or so - but a good raw riff does not a great song make. The lyrics detract from it considerably.

You've just described much of ABB in a nutshell, Gazza.

The biggest issue I have with both B2B and ABB (with a handful of exceptions) = Lazy Songwriting!

Actually I love both albums. And for the MOST part, I like the lyrics on ABB - with the exception of the infantile crap on NeoCon and ONNYA and the lazy, throwaway lyrics of SOL and Rough Justice. There are some moments on it where Mick is capable of resisting the temptation to think with his cock when he's writing, and write lyrics which are quite self -reflective and mature (Laugh I Nearly Died, Let Me Down Slow, Biggest Mistake, etc) as well as moments of biting humour (Dangerous Beauty, Look what the cat dragged in)

I am surprised to see B2B criticized for the songwriting (there is no question ABB stinks it up). Quite personally, I think the songwriting is one of the (many) great things about B2B. That is probably why ABB turned me off after the first month, while I have been listening to B2B for almost 10 years and never did get tired of it.

Filp the Switch, Lowdown, Too Tight, Already Over Me, Always Suffering, and the Keith songs just don't do it for me.

I do Like Saint of Me and Out of Control a LOT though. Gunface is a guilty pleasure for me as well.

LOL..you've just written off all of Keith's songs on the entire album!

Personally, I think Keith's two songs that close the record are majestic and absolutely dripping with sssoul.

Majestic?

Moonlight Mile is majectic. Let It Loose is Majestic.

No, I don't think I'm going to give the Stones unconditional worshipping anymore. I've felt this way since the ABB tour. When all is collected from them, certain material rises to the top.

And when placed next to the vast body of great music which I love by other artists, the amount of material by the Stones which I still consider outstanding shrinks even more.

I still love the Stones, and they will likely always hold the top spot on my favourites list, but I won't drool over everything they've done, nor will I give their lesser efforts undeserved praise.

Having said all that crap, I think the last 'Keith' song I even really like is 'Thru and Thru'.

Imho the May-show from that dance academy was a knock-out,
the boys were back in town again...
Techniochal perfection audio- or clever-wise
has never been these guys cup of tea, has it?

ONNYA is a smokin' rocker & I do not care about some shitty lyric line...
If that would be an obstacle, noone would never listen to
or admit liking Star Star...

I agree completely.

Gaz:
The RJ lyrics are killer.
The SOL lyrics is OK (Not exactly written with his cock in mind).
ONNYA is quite OK.
Neocon we can agree on, but the music on that song is quite good.
